WASHINGTON -- In the past week, Karl Rove has been promising Republican insiders an "October surprise" to help win the November congressional elections.

Days before the 2004 presidential election, an Osama Bin Laden videotape gave Bush the six point surge he needed to overtake John Kerry and snatch the White House.
According to a book written by Bill Sammon, Senior White House Correspondent for the Washington Examiner, Bush attributed his 2004 victory over John Kerry in part to a Osama bin Laden videotape released on the eve of the election.

I thought the Republicans plan was to lose the house so they can go back to blaming the Democratic congress for their failed policies and get the Presidency and congress back in 2008

If I'm correct, I think it's the Defeat-o-crats that always seem to have something pop up a week before the election that's supposedly a scandal marring the GOP's prospects. Remember the bit about GHWB and the Iran hostages right before 1988's election? And GWB's dui right before the 2000 election? Actually, it's the willing accomplices in the media that try to handicap the GOP. Last time it was the phony exit polls designed to depress the turnout and create illusion that Kerry had already ran away with the election early in the day. Remember that?

Probably a capture of some big terrorist leader who they already have. or a terrorist attack they have found out about and saved us from.I'M tired of the political games of Rove or a tape showing they almost got Osama Bin Laden or wmd in Iran so we should start another war. I'M sick of our kids being sent to wars in other countries and getting killed to bolster up these peoples egos it is time to change our foreign policy and try to change the way a lot of people feel about us. the funny part is this is not the American people we are always
helping people especially countries whose people are starving it is people like the ones who run our government and people like Rove that make a hatred for Americans worse

He won't tell. The October surprise may be that there isn't an October surprise. It sure seems to be bugging the libs, though. Karl Rove scares the libs spitless.

May be he will get fired some important members of the administration to ease the anxiety.Or he can also announce the date to withdraw the troops.But most likely activity by Osama will be there also.
