The republican leadership could have avoided the "leak" altogether if they had brought him up on ethics charges 4+ years ago when they first found out about it. Their motto should be: We're for family values when it's convenient.

Not to my knowledge. If you have a source, we'd all like to see it.
One question that HAS been raised, has to do with the source of the IMs. It appears that they are three years old. Someone has been aware of them for quite some time, but has held on to them for release just prior to an election.
As it happens, the age of consent in Washington D.C. is 16, so there was no actual crime. However, if there HAD been a crime, the people holding that evidence all that time would have also been guilty of a crime.
Not everything that's legal is moral, and I'm glad Foley resigned.
Look, the fact of the matter is, Democrats defended Gerry Studds (D-Mass) in 1983 for behavior that was far worse. The "moral outrage" is all a sham, and this is merely a tactic to try and win control of Congress in the coming election.

Its typical of Repubs, blame Dems everytime your party fails. Republican Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert covers up for Republican Foley so that they can hang on to the House majority. But they will blame Clinton and the Dems as they always do.

We know that Republican leaders, including the guy in charge of the pages, knew a year ago the Foley was interested in teenage boys. They should have done a full investigation.

OMG who cares? This is 'Politics 101' and you haven't taken the course yet. Trust me, political response is so predictable, its not even worth talking about.
There is no difference between the way Democrats and Republicans think... they just want power. The only reason all these big news stories are coming out now is the elections next month.
My advice: just ignore it, and realize that this has all happened before (yes, the naughty talk with minors... its all happened before).

Yes, it's funny how they are unable to take responsibility for anything. First it's Abramoff, being lied to about Iraq, and now this.
And all they can say is that Democrats want to "cut and run"?
Who's putting the spin on what now?

They did leak it. An they waited until the day after it was too late to replace Foley on the ballot to leak it.
When Torricelli was involved in his scandal the DNC fought the State of NJ and forced them to put Lautenberg's name on the ballot. The Republicnas won't stoop that low as to break Florida law to deceive voters.
