The founders did not anticipate the dysfunction caused by the bitter animosity between political parties. They were more concerned with balancing the 3 branches of gov't and to have checks and balances between the legislative and the executive. Unfortunately, nothing in the constitution addresses all of the problems caused by bitter partisan politics and conflicts. How can we amend the constitution to reduce or eliminate partisan animosity in our gov't and get back to a government that actually accomplishes something for the people.

Please no references to any member of the current administration or any of the presidential candidates. I'm not interested in any Bush or Hillary bashing. I am interested in serious answers.

Government pay no attention to the will and want of the nation. They just go ahead and do what they like. Is this really democratic? yes we get to vote but all partys seem to take the same line.

For all the vitrol and drool the Rightwingoids seem so eager to spew around here over every piece of news that comes along, they are remarkably silent on "Mr.Gonzo the Patriot Boy" so far. All of a sudden they are harder to find than Weapons of Mass Distraction or Dick Cheney's moral fiber. Have we finally found, in an administration full of Browns, Ashcrofts and Rumsfelds, an official so horribly incompetent that even the frothing attack poodles of the YA George Bush rah-rah squad are too embarassed to heap weak, too-late accolades upon him?
(God I love this...we get so few days like this around here...)

I do and here is why.
The so called middle class/working class people are nothing but liberals/democrats thus they stand against President Bush, against America and against Christianity. They have given support to Al Qaeda and the terrorists who attacked us on 911 countless times.
We need to support President Bush - we need to support what he does to keep Americans safe!

I can't believe people are willing to allow government to take over our private sector health-care..the best in the world. Yes we have people who have no insurance yet we have more people insured at ANY time in out history, in 1950 only 22% of people had insurance, in 1965 it was 35%, in 1975 it was 41%, today it's over 79% of people with insurance. Some seem to be so willing to allow our bankrupt federal government who can't even deliever the mail correctly run our health-care...a whopping 1/7th of the economy. Yes there are many that don't have insurance, children that need it that fall between the cracks....to rich to get free insurance and too poor to buy it...we are closing that gap...but if that's your argument...can we list lot's of other things the poor dont have, food, clothing, car insurance...the list is endless....why throw the baby out with the bath water...MR. GOVERNMENT my Health-Care is NONE of your business........KEEP-OUT!!

do you agree

There are two arguments, I don't understand, for to stay the course.
1. We have to win?
2. If we don't win, the Terrorists will come to the USA?
Why, what for and wasn't 9/11 just a miserable failure of our none existing security in airports.

note the response by POLITICALADVISOR (username)

"Wait a minute, who sued? Gore and Kerry both filed suits."

I mean reality is reality. And whats honestly scary is the twist on facts and reality. People will no doubt beleive anything.

I wonder in ten years how reality will be twisted and the truth be literally shifted.

Oh, here is a little bit on the law suit by G.W. Bush vs. Al Gore. truth, and reality.

"Per Curiam
SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES

GEORGE W. BUSH, et al., PETITIONERS v.
ALBERT GORE, Jr., et al.

ON WRIT OF CERTIORARI TO THE FLORIDA SUPREME COURT

I know it may well be because we tend to associate with people most like ourselves but I have never met anyone in real life that I could describe as a Liberal.
Do you know anyone who thinks the European Convention on Human Rights is a good idea, that our Immigration Policy makes sense, that Justice isn't skewed towards the criminal today and that we've got it right with our 'rights before responibility' culture? Could go on with this list but sure you get the idea.
Obviously these people do exist (and fair play to them) just feels like they are given undue attention in the media.

On the Sunday program (channel 9 26/08/2007) It was revealed that While Labour was publicly supporting the Liberals plan to assist the Aboriginal children, behind the scenes, they were actually going out to communities and instructing aboriginal community members not to cooperate. This is a serious issue. How can Labout play polical points games with the welfare of aboriginal children? Any one who missed that report on sunday, I suggest you watch it to get some perspective

The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.
If minimum wage increased, companies would begin to loose revenue/profit.
To make up for that, wouldn't prices begin to rise?
So.....do you agree that inflation would rapidly accelerate?
