If the terrorist are rouge in nature. If they are not an "army" why would they head for Iraq to fight our military? Thats futile.

WAKE UP STUPID. Terrorists work on fear. Not warfare.

you con nobs get stupider as world spins around.

TERROR is pointless to our army. TERROR is effective in scaring domestic civilians. Thats why bush calls the "terrorist" rather than the N Korean Army or the Iranian gaurd, etc.

Iraq- the big terorrist magnet? yeah thats a good one.

wake the "F" up!

Shouldn't Bush be held acountable? He failed miserably on his watch. He let Americans down and failed to stop one of the most despicable tragedys of our history.

Shouldn't any patriotic American do the right thing for our country and at a minimum impeach Bush and investigate what really happend?

Or did Bush just do 911 on purpose so there is no accountability?

The South is the biggest source of problems in America. They keep electing Republicans. They habve the biggest divorce rates, drug use rates. They oppress blacks and now hispanics. They have the lowest literacy rates. The lowest educational standards. The lowest rates of high school graduates going to college, highest drop out rates. Basicly dragging the whole country down with them.

So what do we do? Cut them out of the US and let them have their own country to run in to the ground, drop a nuke and just wipe them out, or use military force to enslave them and force them into improving themselves?

Small arms and light weapons destabilize regions; spark, fuel and prolong conflicts; obstruct relief programmes; undermine peace initiatives; exacerbate human rights abuses; hamper development; and foster a “culture of violence”. These are the words of the United Nations.http://commonsenseamerica.net/blog1/?p=1327

The problem with the current liberal movement in the U.S. is that in it's attempt to aid the poor and the under represented portions of society, this liberal movement winds up working to undermine individual responsibility, individual rights, and equal opportunity for all, the fundamental philosophy of western liberalism. When specific groups are given higher priority above others, equality for all gets thrown out the window and abandoned. The rights of minorities and those identified as oppressed should not be placed above the rights of others, specifically individuals who seek to take responsibility for their own actions and to assert their own individual rights. The new cult of victimization needs to be reconsidered, and the unfairness of this concept needs to be made clear to all. By ending this rift in western liberalism, the liberal movement could be reinvigorated, and western liberals could begin to defend themselves again.

only her sour disposition could produce? If she really cares so much, why doesn't she offer to help?

Ever hear of "Starving the beast"? It's an American conservative political strategy which uses budget deficits to attempt to force future reductions in government expenditure, especially spending on socially progressive programs. The term "beast" is used to denote government and the social programs it funds, including publicly-funded health care, welfare, educational financial aid, and Social Security. Some empirical evidence shows that the strategy may actually be counterproductive, with higher taxes actually corresponding to lower spending: "Controlling for the unemployment rate, federal spending [from 1981 to 2000] increased by about one-half percent of GDP for each one percentage point decline in the relative level of federal tax revenues." The article (written by William Niskanen and Peter Van Doren of the Cato Institute) shows that "a tax increase may be the most effective policy to reduce the relative level of federal spending."

Are you ok with an american internet company giving communist tyrannical government of china (I mean selling them $$$$) the technology to help suppress free speech, and even hunt down dissenters? or helping Iran do the same? Is there something unsavory and unamerican about that? What about those companies who do the same with Iran and sell them the technology to track cell phone users and suppress text messaging? Could you imagine companies from the land of the free doing this 30 years ago?

America has a bill of rights, France has something very similiar,
Japan also has a written constitution ( forced on them by the Americans ). Do you think this country would benefit by a codified
constitution.

What is going on when the right is claiming that they care about civilian populations in other countries more than liberals, and they are pushing more government and less freedom? O but it's for our safety.
Saddam Hussein was a brutal tyrant that America supported and empowered for years. Now he's gone and things ARE WORSE than ever before!
We have had hinges installed upon our freedoms. Our foreign policy changed, so we may now attack those who we feel could be a threat in the future.
So in theory this great for our defense, but the first time it was implemented was over lies and deception. We are now in a terrible war that had nothing to do with freeing people or defending our country. So what is this war about.
I am not saying that I am pro or con, I just don't understand what is happening. All I see is smoke and mirrors.

I'm sure I remember - a very long time ago - before the war on terror - being reliably informed by the BBC, that the Taliban had outlawed opium cultivation in Afghanistan.

I don't know whether my memory is at fault or whether some kind of Orwellian re-writing of history has taken place but that is what I remember. I know that the Taliban had some pretty heinous policies but that one wasn't so bad was it?

It wouldn't bug me so much but for the fact that one of the principle reasons the military presence in Afghanistan is justified is to stamp out opium production.

Was Orwell right? Is my memory at fault? Please help!

I'll probably sound sexist, but how can Hillary seriously handle going on the offensive against terrorism? How would an American woman president be seen by Muslim countries such as Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, and list goes on? Would Hillary's Presidential presence embolden "the enemy"?

Do you find it appalling that conspiracy theorists often try and appeal to emotion when they say things such as, "we dedicate this to the lives lost during the tragic events?" For instance videos that try and disprove and support their claim.

Granted, it's smart and effective media and obviously appeals to some, but I find it outrageously disgusting and very discomforting that there is blatant disregard to the families and their loss.
