they certainly are not.

I remember a question asked by a neocon a few weeks ago, in terms of an interview he saw with a Kurd on it, praising Bush for coming in and getting Saddam.

Of course the Kurd is going to be happy- the major conflicts are in Baghdad and Anbar. The Kurds pretty much are being left alone right now.

I happened to mention to the neocon's question in my answer that had the interview also had a Sunni and a Shi'ite questioned, their answers could be much, much different.

The neocon then emailed me and railed on and on about how the Kurds were gassed, etc and that I knew nothing about what was going on in Iraq.

Oh really? Before we invaded Iraq, there were married couples where one was a Sunni and one was a Shi'ite. In many of those couples, only the Shi'ite is still alive because of the sectarian violence- the Sunni was kidnapped and killed by Shi'ite militias.

Before we invaded Iraq, there were mixed neighborhoods of Sunni and Shi'ites and people pretty much got along.

I suppose in a way they ARE banding together again because THEY WANT US OUT.

But try getting that through GWB's noggin.

Were the Germans better off in 1945 than they were 7 years previously?

Certainly, more folks were dead, cities were bombed out, and food and medical attention were in dire need.

But they no longer had Hitler to oppress them, just as the Iraqi's no longer have Saddam.

So, yes, the Iraqi's are better off today than they were 7 years ago.

Our troops found rape rooms, torture chambers, mass graves filled with 100's of 1000's of people in them. You do the math if you're capable.

There are a lot dead who can't vote. Do you think they are better off! They have no water, electricity and are killed in their own homes by the military! Hell, we are even shooting up police stations!

They can't even walk on the streets as demonstrated here:
