These are hard to recall. Not because they don't exist, but rather because the media doesn't cover them! Surprisingly, as rare an occurrence as it is, Bush doing something right is not newsworthy.

In 2005, he signed a new energy bill to help deal with modern challenges, especially the large scale power outage that occurred in Ohio and New York.

He tried to privatize social security in attempts to fix the ailing system (no one would listen to him).

He tried to encourage immigration reforms and programs to document illegal immigrants and give them some rights (again, no one listened).

He took a (somewhat botched) pro-active stance against terrorism and attempted to send a clear message that the US will not tolerate terrorist conducting attacks on Americans.

Shortly after Katrina, Ohio was flooded, and the recovery there was quite quick. Again, not newsworthy: no one died and it made FEMA look like the system works.

Not exactly a legacy-worthy list of accomplishments, but more so than others have posted.

Lowering taxes only for the wealty - positive??? National debt largest in history! The wealthy sent those tax breaks to china an imported poison food and lead covered toys for our children. Sorry but those tax breaks has done nothing for the economy. Maybe it created some subprime lending cash which has also gone sour. Try again you bush lovers maybe you'll come up with something before you hit the grave.

2. Lowered taxes.

3. Gave more power to law inforcement and ICE to enforce our current immigration laws.

4. Destroyed Al Qaida's safe haven in Afghanistan and established a Democratic Government there allowing the citizens of Afghanistan to vote for the first time in the history of that country.

5. Took Saddam Hussein out of power and established a Democratic Government in Iraq allowing the citizens of Iraq to vote for the first time in the history of that country.
