Throughout the history of the 20th century communism, socialism and facism have been identified as threats to a 'free' society, but I feel capitalism and the consumerist ideas that come hand in hand with caplitalism has led to social and moral degredation. Families have been taken apart as our socieities have become more highly mobile leading to isolation and lack of social cohesion. Crime is increasing, prisons are getting more and more overcrowded because of poverty, the increasing gap between the haves and have nots, and bad parenting. Wars are conducted so that head capitalist nations such as the US, UK, Japan etc can get contracts to make weapons to destroy 3rd world countries and rebuild them again, and rob them of their resources.
To put it simply Capitalism is a dehumanising political force as any other.

Do you agree?

Hitler's Nazi Germany was the first industrialized nation to successfully outlaw private gun ownership. Hitler said "It will make our streets safer and our nation more efficient." Safer for who? More efficient for who? More Americans die each year in car crashes than from guns but the Demonrats aren't trying to take away our car keys. Is gun control just another public policy to get sympathetic soccer moms to give up their rights so they can be raped? It seems to me that criminals could care less what the law is. So passing a laws to restrict or eliminate private gun ownership does nothing to stop a criminal. But my 9mm Ruger with a 30-round clip will stop a criminal. There's a town I know of where the city council passed a city ordinance that it's residents be required to keep and bear arms. They did this after a series of incidents involving armed thugs created a local crime spree. Local police now canvass neighborhoods and check the residents guns. Gun crimes = 0.

We missed on the helicopter, but screw that. We discovered electricity and invented the light bulb.. We have walked on the on the moon. We took the best of what Europe had to offer and we made it work and made it practical. Basically, the United States took the world out of the dark ages and if you hate us then turn off that computer you're reading this on, don't talk on your cel phone, and stop driving your car, and flying on airplanes. Fall in line behind the world's greatest superpower and country---the USA!!!! God Bless the USA!!!!!

These two groups of small islands are located in the South China Sea. It doesn't appear that any of these islands are capable of supporting human habitation, however their ownership is currently disputed by many countries, including China, Vietnam, Philippines, etc.

What is the history of these island groups over the past 200 years? Most accounts which I have seen on the internet only talk about the current ownership disputes, and don't go into the history in depth.

Some sources say that these island groups were occupied by the Japanese during WWII. However, the situation before that Japanese occupation is much less clear. In particular, I would be interested in the history of the Paracel Islands and Spratly Islands over the last 200 years or more.

Each country with a legislative body should pass a law that any representative that votes in favor of a war shall have themselves or their children automatically drafted for the military. No one would ever want to start a war if a law like that passed.

Empires seem to only last a set amount of years on this planet. I feel that at some time the in future, the land we know as the United States of America will no longer be what it is today. But what i want to know is how much longer the US can go on being the most powerful nation in the world? Whether it be another nation conquering us, global problems (run out of natural resources, global warming), or total annihilation from another uncontrollable source.. how much longer do we have left?

and our freedom so why do you dislike America? I understand, foreign policy, but don't we help a lot of countries? I think we give too much to other people myself. There are things I can't have because I don't have the money, if my gov't didn't give it away to countries that don't appreciate it I could have more.

Last time I checked the Evil Oil Companies write checks when they load up a tanker. Am I missing something or is this "We're in Iraq for the oil." the nonsense I think it is; why do folks over the age of 21 buy this idiocy (I realize the kids not only have no clue what's going on but that their so-called "educators" don't really expect them to)?

I know that's six more, so if we wanted to get rid of Texas and then we'd end up with 55 states and that'd still be a nice-looking arrangement of stars.
...
(haha, just kidding Texas. We love you, but you can be your own country again whenever you want.) (Like they always say in Texas..."it's kinda hot today.")

Not only would it create jobs for people to make them, but it would cut down on power used in USA by a lot. The money saved would be significant. Also, it can add different moods to any room you put them in.

Why DOES she stay with that piece of lying white trash anyway? I mean, she's got it ALL going for her and she's with the perfect bum - rich, white, over 21, lying, cheating, abusive, and a congenital liar.

Can any of you Hillary-lovers explain the paradox? How can an uber-feminina hang with a low-life like White Trash Billy?
