Each country with a legislative body should pass a law that any representative that votes in favor of a war shall have themselves or their children automatically drafted for the military. No one would ever want to start a war if a law like that passed.

LAW AND GOVERNMENT CANNOT PREVENT WARS
IT ONLY STARTS WARS

SO YOUR THEORY IS TOTALLY WRONG AND WOULD NOT WORK.

Everyone is in a race to be the best, stepping on those below them in their race to the top and killing, maiming, and destroying the Earth so badly it is now beyond repair.
So who wins here?

Not ONE

For most of human history, people lived in small tribal groups consisting of a few families who all knew each other. Whenever these groups came into conflict, many of them would send only their most powerful warrior against that of the other's, with the agreement that the tribe of the victor would also be the winner of the conflict.

This system if followed prevented undue death and destruction and could solve a serious problem in one afternoon. I really wish countries today could fight their wars in this manner (as much as I despise George Bush, he could easily waste bin Laden in a few minutes), but nation states are too big and full of people who don't know each other to make this socially enforceable.

We could pass such a law and it might actually be effective despite what other countries do. The only difference would be that those who decide to wage war would be on the front lines along with all the other soldiers; it wouldn't have to mean that they are the *only* ones fighting the war.

That would succeed in scaring politicians in free countries into not going to war while doing nothing to deter tyranical regimes from growing even bolder faced with the fact that the free world would be less likely to take any military action against them. I don't like war either, but I think sometimes military action is the only way.

Great idea, but the legislative body will never punish themselves with a law like that. They prefer to give themselves raises instead.

Western, if your little brain feels that "well oh, sometimes military intervention is the ONLY way", then take your little candy @$$ and go jump right on the front lines.
