Hitler's Nazi Germany was the first industrialized nation to successfully outlaw private gun ownership. Hitler said "It will make our streets safer and our nation more efficient." Safer for who? More efficient for who? More Americans die each year in car crashes than from guns but the Demonrats aren't trying to take away our car keys. Is gun control just another public policy to get sympathetic soccer moms to give up their rights so they can be raped? It seems to me that criminals could care less what the law is. So passing a laws to restrict or eliminate private gun ownership does nothing to stop a criminal. But my 9mm Ruger with a 30-round clip will stop a criminal. There's a town I know of where the city council passed a city ordinance that it's residents be required to keep and bear arms. They did this after a series of incidents involving armed thugs created a local crime spree. Local police now canvass neighborhoods and check the residents guns. Gun crimes = 0.

You know once again, I do realize the Neocons target the uneducated and unhappy people and tell them the Democrats and liberals are why they are so unhappy, now listen, what is the ONLY gun laws passed in recent history, mmmmm The Brady Bill, (I even agree with it) but it was written and passed by the republicans, and the 1994 federal assault weapons ban that was thought of by Democrats but approved by the Republicans, Also the Republican led House, Senate and Presidency with George Jr, re passed the billed when it expired in 2004, Would you like me to post links with bush and his big anti assault gun speech. Sometimes its very difficult to talk to such obviously, shall I say (un-read) people, do a little bit of research. Can you please post what gun laws have been passed and by who the last 50 years, you might learn something.

Personally I like the idea of someone having to get a background check before buying a gun, instead of anybody off the street no matter what kind of mental or criminal history they have being able to go in a buy one, and yes I am a gun owner including an assault rifle.

The point is as with most things, there is gray area, and your spreading lies, both parties have people who want some form of gun control, its just how much gun control, Do we really need bullets that can peirce the police protection jackets, I don't think so.

Just for the heck of it since you mentioned Hitler (who was a bonehead), the below link are posters posted all over Germany

The Democrats you are referring to are a minority even in their own party, and are so far left, they make Trotsky look tame. You are correct about the career criminal though, they don't care for the law, or you. You need only look at Australia to get a sense of what can go wrong if gun confiscation were allowed here. Multiply that by 10 times the gun owning population
and 5 times the attitude. Hmm...sounds like civil war to me.
One town like the one you mention is Kenesaw, Georgia, and yes the crime rate has dropped dramatically and stayed down since that ordinance was passed.
I have a freind who lives in that area, and he doesn't need to lock his doors at night. I met him at a gun show in Jacksonville, Fla. where we were both purchasing items that are forbidden in many other states. For some reason these places all have higher gun violence. Wonder why?
Here in Florida we have had great success with our gun laws
reducing crime, but registration, and licensing are part of the deal.
If you live in a state that is considering changes that make it too difficult to legally obtain guns, my advice is do it anyway, or move.
Good Luck.

I think you are generalizing a bit here. I am surrounded by Democrats in a blue collar area. They all have guns, many of them hunt, and they all have that attitude of "pry my gun from my cold dead fingers." I'm an Independent, but my understanding is that gun control, not gun removal, is the key. There is nothing wrong with requiring people to register their guns, or to have a waiting period to purchase one. Beyond those two requirements, I think the government needs to butt out. When they take all the guns away from the criminals in this country, then they can talk to the rest of us about gun ownership.

Just another effort to erode the rights guaranteed to us by our Constitution.

You know, all the rhetoric and controversy is being generated by 10% of the people in the US - either the right or the left, the Libs or Consvs, the Repubs or the Dems. The other 90% of us watch all this with amusement - we were at one time called "The Silent Majority.

A word of warning to that 10%:
Beware our wrath when you finally piss us off!

Not all Democrats feel that way. I was raised with guns, feel comfortable with them and still target shoot. I am not into hunting, but I don't support taking / consfication of people's guns...now if you had a BAR and an FFL I have no problem with that either.

democrats are not interested in taking away peoples guns. can you site one instance where a law was proposed to take away peoples guns??? it has never happened. perhaps you should do more research and less believing in the the lies you are told by Republicans.

If they take away my handgun, I get a shotgun. I refuse to be unprotected in my own home because democrats only want criminals to have handguns (black market).

This country appears to be going downhill with regard to crime, and the hard working Americans cannot depend on the government to help. I guess we have to do it for ourselves.

They don't. That's Republican BS aimed at the ignorant and gullible.

This liberal belongs to the ACLU and NRA. I often carry a Sig-Sauer .45.
