with our past policies in the Middle East, such as our backing of Israel, and our involvement in the Gulf War?

And could more have been done to prevent the attacks?

I know that at first it was explained to us by our government officials that the terrorists "hated our freedom" and that is why they attacked us. This never made musc sense to me. But I suspect the true reason may be something else our government was not telling us. after all the investigations and discussion was it ever decided what the real reasons were? Did the terrorists ever offer any explanation/ what was it? Should their reasons for doing it alter our responses?
If they truly hated our freedom. aren't we letting them win each time we let the government take away another freedom to "fight the terrorists"?
Maybe we should seek to understand the real reasons they attacked us and try to respond accordingly instead of responding to a made-up reason. maybe that would work better and serve to stop future attacks?

He is a great president, one of our history's best! I am proud to have voted for him, and will miss him when he is gone.
But what is annoying is all the people who gang up on him and talk crap about him because he is not perfect or they are just trying to be cool like everyone else who talks crap and don't know what they are talking about.

But anyway, Bush Roxxxxxxxxx!!

During the Gore/Bush debates (remember these were held to a minimum), Al Gore pointed out that Bush's plans would be spending our surplus three times. Bush responded by saying Gore was using FuzzyMath (we all now what that is now, don't we?).
The Right Column took the phrase and plastered it all over the place.
In the end, Bush did indeed, squander the surplus and plummeted you, your children and your grandchildren into a national debt that was only comparable to the money grab made during Dutch Reagan's regime.

Thanks Shrub!! Hope we get to return the favor to you someday.

I don't see it as a holding that Bush is wrong, or lied....but that the SC would not allow the Presidents power to encompass placing suspected terrorists on trial...I think this could be a bad thing....what about you?

Supposedly a bullet (or fragment) fired from Oswald's Carcano Rifle was lodged in Connelly's leg. A simple ballistics check could have confirmed one shooter or multiple shooters. And yet the family said no and of course the government was just fine with that decision. Why not check it out?

Adam Smith's idea was that a society of competitive, profit-seeking, private-property-owning, free individuals can assure the provisioning of society through a self-regulating market mechanism that accumulates capital, productivity and wealth. He was right. In the seven generations since 1820, that idea has multiplied the human population by six times, the incomes of the developing countries by 5.4 times and the incomes of the developed countries by 19 times. Chavez thinks this astonishing success story is a dismal failure. To correct it, he wants to return to monopoly capitalism of the 18th century colonialists. For competition by free individuals, he substitutes monopoly by the state. For the self-regulating market mechanism, he substitutes a dictatorship of prices, wages, exchange rates and corrupt state enterprises. For private property he substitutes state property via expropriation, confiscation, taxation or regulation, and a "right to use" state property but not own it Comments?
