In my opinion, yes. We shouldn't become a nation that just bans eveything. They do provoke and they are petty, but that's people for you.

My mum used to dance about the orange marches when she was a kid, and she said she loved them, but she's totally against them now.

Yes they should. they are walking on the queens Highways. they have been walking through those areas for years. Nowadays there should be some concessions from both sides. The Orange order Marches down a road. the Catholic residents protest about it and Eventually the parade gets rerouted or Stopped. Fair point on the Followers they for the majority of them do cause the trouble. But on the other side of the coin. So do the Catholics. were is the mention of all the trouble makers from the Catholic side. who attack a parade which was allowed and without its Followers. Most of the Parades routs were in Mixed or protestant area's. But with all the Troubles Both sides have been moved from here to there. No one Community has the right to take away anther's Communities History, weither it be good or bad.

although I do not agree with Sectarianism, I believe that in a democracy they have the right to exist, regardless of how shallow and ignorant and Nazi like they are. It is their will to promote hate, but they also have that freedom. So as long as they exist they have rights too and the right to march for what they believe in just as I march and protest for the rights that I believe in.

very difficult issue here in the north of ireland. The parades commission that was set up to rule on the issue doesn't seem to have moved matters on and whilst clearly many of the orange marchers are antagonising those who clearly don't want them there are examples where residents groups have been set up to "over emphasise" opposition. Speaking as a Catholic I find orange marches intimidating and oppressive and would not want one going past my house. One way of sorting it out would be to remove all security from the marches and say march where you like but face the consequences. It would be clear then where they were and were not welcome.

I am assuming you are from Norn Iron...
If people want to march in their own areas thats fine, but I cant see the point in marching in nationalist areas - remember when the lodges closed the roads because of the garvaghy road? how childish and petulant

in my opinion yes we should as its not the people in the bands that cause the majority of the trouble but the idiot drunks walking on the pavements with them , and its usually the orange order that most try to stop and not the catholic parades , not that i bother much either way but the rift between both religions will always cause both sides to fight for the other to be stopped

Yes, we should.

Besides, the right of the people to perform them is guaranteed in the First Amendment.

They already ARE "allowed."

It is every American's Constitutional right to express themselves freely. The government cannot stop you.
