Supposedly a bullet (or fragment) fired from Oswald's Carcano Rifle was lodged in Connelly's leg. A simple ballistics check could have confirmed one shooter or multiple shooters. And yet the family said no and of course the government was just fine with that decision. Why not check it out?

Because he died of natural causes, and the family probably didn't find the prospect of an autopsy apealing.

Most states won't do an autopsy unless the cause of death isn't known, or there was a crime committed that caused death.
