No, but to be fair, the number of countries that feel they need a base of operations incase of issues with Canada & Mexico is quite low.

There was a question on here the other day about how many countries had little or no armed forces, or at least a highly reduced number compared to their level of development, exclusively because they depended on the US or strong US allies for defense. We have bases in other countries for reasons like that. Otherwise they are temporary & in all cases we pay handsomely for the priveledge of being their guests. Meanwhile you'll ercall the DOD a couple years ago talking about moving a ton of troops back to the US & shutting many of those bases. There's nothing wrong with beng forward deployed and able to get to hot spots faster, but we do need to be flexible on moving to bases closer to those future hot spots. You'll notice North America is not particularly a hotspot where other countries think they may need to quickly move troops into a war anytime soon. We do have a big ole ton of foreign military personnel cycle thru here on training programs though. Probably more uniformed foreign military in the US at any given time than many small countries have in their armed forces.

We have bases in countries that specifically REQUESTED we have bases there, at the ends of wars and such. I served overseas, and I promise you the local town businesses LOVE the Base or Post at the top of the hill. They make a ton of money working ON that post too.
I am sure we WOULD have a foreign base here if we had ever been conquered by a foreign country. It's never happened.

We have military bases around the world, yes, and you should be glad that we do. Most of those bases are either in countries that have invited us there to establish protection for them from other countries, some of the bases, such as Germany and Japan, are countries we fought wars against, and conquered. You obviously are not a student of history.

the are no foreign bases in our country. the only reason we have bases on others as they are allied countries and it gets them the afforded military they don't have or can afford. as allied bases, we can help the allied country with anything for their military. most of the world military has our outdated rquipment or new craft and such, but never designed to be better than what we use.

Zero.
The U.S. has bases in other countries to protect U.S. interests. This is only possible due to the U.S. military and economic power.
There's not that many other countries with those resources.

When you carry the biggest stick and are the school yard bully, you can do anything you darn well please.
I'm not saying its right. Your question was actually a very good question. I'm just saying we are in other countries because we coerced, or won the right from the spoils of war to be there.

None, but the reason we have bases in places like Italy is because it is a shorter plane ride to the Middle East.
