news flash folks...people thought this long before Bush was in the white house. lol Could blame Clinton too. Could blame the attitude people see among rude demanding people travelling in their countries.
I have a good friend for years in Canada and he always used to grumble something about Americans then laugh and say "not you you're not like that". I'd always ask like what but he couldn't describe it. About 10-1/2 years ago I started working in an international hostel...and one night all of a sudden I got it. Americans come through the door demanding me me me me. Some others do too but not as much as Americans. They'll elbow in front of other guests. They are inconsiderate. Not all are like this but if that is all you see of someone it's easy to think everyone from there are like that. There were people travelling from UK or other countries that knew more about US geography than some Americans did.

Compared to a lot of other countries, normal American people are stupid. Americans don't get the education other countries do because America doesn't emphasize education as much. However, america has won more nobel prizes than any other country. (I am American)

People from outside of America think that they are stupid because of their leadership and they don't like to co-operate with the international community.

As an American that has had much exposure to people of other countries, I'd say we are a stupid people too.
