"thrashed" as we would say 27 years ago. i think it is called IPT now im not sure. it was a form of punishment of extensive exercises whenever a recruit would screw up. sometimes we would be "thrashed" several times a day. my question is, do the other services do the same thing or is it only a marine corps thing?

I mean, their war being a "holy" one, extremist idealism doesn't require them to stay in one nation to attack satan. Are we to believe they are all based and staying in Iraq, a heavily policed and war torn nation, when they could be in any of a hundred other areas in the world? Why are we one tracked on this one country? They could be anywhere!

My recruiter told me that if I got an opthamalagist to test pass me and refute the MEPS people that I wasn't colorblind that I could get my MOS, which was 19D.

Does anyone know about how this works, like what would happen if I could get an opthamalagist to do help me. What would MEPS do?

I have to write a 15 page paper and i wanted to know how people feel about Iraq. In your opinion should we really be bursting into their country or should we stick to our own buisness? It might be only me but i think that we should care less about other countries who are doing fine without us any worry more about the state of our government and its system. I'm sure there are plenty of ways to brighten up the homeland if only someone would make the effort to stop and listen to its population.

**But please tell me if you are for or against what "we" are doing in Iraq and if you post i will be sure to read it.**

I got a 93 on the ASVAB and look at the PT test that the Army issues, the one based on the perfect score of 300, and I could get 280. Also I'm going into ROTC and finishing college at the University of Kentucky getting a BS in Biology.

There's one hitch I'm low degree red/green colorblind, meaning I can't see certain shades of red and green. I recenlty found out that if you can see vivid reds and greens then you can do the whole airborne, Rangers, Special Forces, thing.

I've wanted to be a Ranger my whole life and would also like to be Special Forces if anyone knows anybody that's been in either and can help.

I'm not asking if the individual stories about the crew is realistic, since Hollywood embellishes those things, or even creates them. My question is whether the airfields, planes, and equipment are somewhat realistic. Thank you.
