It would be nice if we could build a fence around Iraq and see what they do to each other. We could have an Iraq TV channel and watch the stonings and beheadings from the safety of our homes in America.

The war in Iraq is a war than cannot be won, You should study about the Islamic religion. It will give you a divisive point in your young life as what to believe or not to believe. You, in this nation of the USA most likely have not been educated about the difference between the Western culture and the Eastern/Islamic culture/religion.
I'll put it to you this way. I shuddered when it was announced we,the US, was invading Iraq. I knew we could not win because the correct war was not being fought. If we stay, we will loose thousands more of our young in a no win situation, gaining nothing. I am against the method the US is using. The War will go on until Jesus Christ returns and stops it. This nations young are in for a shock and tough times. Read the Koran. Open your eyes, yes it will.

No matter how long our troops are there, it will never be enough to give this country a democracy. They ALL have to want it, and they don't. We could stay another 5 years, I gaurantee, they'll have an extremist group overthrow the feeble government we're babysitting within days of withdrawing. These people are a violent, and very concervative group in their own right, they don't even believe that woman are equals to men, clothes and hair are a temptation so it should be covered. The world we live in is totally different. I can't imagine what our government was thinking when we made this kind of commitment. These people are going to hate us even more now that were leaving them to the mercy of all the extremist groups, (I think we've created some new ones since occupying their country) what could they possibly think of us? Our country is still in it's diapers compaired to most of the great empires of the world. We don't even know what to do with our own. Research Ancient Rome, contrast and compare. It's scary to see how many simlarities from government to nascar(the romans favorite things to watch were the chariot races) bring us to know they ruled the world for a couple thousand years. Think about it.

My son is a United States Marine and is in Iraq now. I can only tell you what he tells me. He was sent over there thinking he was going to shoot any thing that moves, but has since then called home to tell me that they are just like us. He asks me to send him things so he can give it to them. They love shampoo, peanut brittle (they had never had it before) and they love soccer. Now I am talking about the IA's (Iraqi army) he's not allowed much contact the civilians. If what he tells me about the men he works with is true there is hope for Iraq and don't always believe everything you see on tv.
My heart is divided on what we are doing over there, but I'm not there so until my son comes home I'm not going to have a unemotional opinion. Semper Fi

I am for it ONLY because we are already there, and to leave the region now would leave it in chaos. The casualties we are having right now is nothing compared to what we have had in the past... america is losing its stomach for war... our reasons for entering the region was not wholly justified. Saddam had war crimes that should've been adressed by the U.N. but weren't. Reasons given were fabricated ie: Weapons of mass destruction.
Good Luck with your paper!

This Bush guy, doesnt believe in global diplomacy. Hes trigger happy, too quick to use amilitary force he was not willing to serve when it was his turn to show his patriotism in Vietnam.
The right answer to this war hes declared ON IRAQ -- not terror, would have been to first, to attack those that attacked us -- afganistan!!
Then pursue IRAQ only if U.N. forces were going to establish a coalition -- not led by bush's propoganda that he used to dupe the american public on what a threat IRAQ was.
Bush should have listened to his advisors that told him we would need more forces for an after war effort on a toppled IRAQ. He didnt need to listen.
All through this war, he has only replaced generals an ignored all intel given to him, which is funny because he proudly claims hes the commander in chieef of our military during war time, when in the vietnam war he pulled strings and managed to side step the vietnam war.
And the rest can be read in any newspaper, on any blog.
His republicans shileded him, controlling both parts of congress,so he was untouchable, so republicans share the burden of this war.
And now, 5 years later, 3 trillion dollars later, 25000 casualties later, bush wants to send more troops and conitnue to fight this war against all his prior generals suggestions.
He now has a new general to lead this war..his latest substitution.
read alittl about our president and his patriotism, or lack of.

Bush's legacy should be the leader that couldnt lead by example
