Because eventually if we always act like everything can be solved by discussion, someone will learn that they can always push us around if they are willing to fight.

Happened so many times.

Discussion usually works best if it is backed up by threat of war.

Remember Nevill Chamberlan proclaimed "Peace in our time" in 1938 when he allowed Hitler to occupy Czechoslovakia peacefully. Only a year later Poland was invaded by German tanks, made in Czechoslovakia.

Everyone wanted peace, but if someone had been firm to Hitler in 1938 or before millions fewer people would have died in WWII.

I think that you're forgetting something that Carl von Clausewitz said which is as true today as it was when he coined the phrase, which is that "War is a continuation of politics by other means". When diplomatic efforts prove unsuccessful, war is the means to an end.

I think that the problem that you (and others) might have is that you are making the assumption that all parties are rational and willing to accept an honest discourse on disagreements and grievances as a means to come to a peaceful resolution. Sometimes that works, other times it doesn't.

I agree that we should have a discussion with the countries and try to solve the problem. Ask the country what it would take for them to negotiate and have a peaceful solution. War never solves anything. It just gets worse.

Some people can not be convinced by manners. So, we have to send them a very strong message that we mean business. However, it's always the innocent that have to die while we are sending the message. It's so sad for us humans because we all practically the same but we feel that nobody understands us. That was sets us apart.

some peopel just arnt willing to discuss, and neither are we. you know how many contracts hitler signed saying that he would not take any more countries? he signed 4 contracts, promising that he would behave. see how that turned out? not so good. and we have the policy : we dont negotiate with terrorist. and really, the only way to find peace, is going through war

I agree.
Diplomacy and active dialogues are way better than war. For one, they're cheaper than war. Secondly, there is no loss of human life either.

That's why we need to strengthen International Organizations like the United Nations to make sure everyone's talking and everyone's getting along.

Although your phrasing/spelling needs work, the answer is,
in my opinion, leaders don't have to face the bullets or bombs.
It's easier to scream ATTACK! when you won't come to harm.
People should learn to talk. Mabye we should let the people talk and leave the politicians out of it!
