I mean, their war being a "holy" one, extremist idealism doesn't require them to stay in one nation to attack satan. Are we to believe they are all based and staying in Iraq, a heavily policed and war torn nation, when they could be in any of a hundred other areas in the world? Why are we one tracked on this one country? They could be anywhere!

Because that is where the terrorist chose to fight us.

The war against Saddam ended many years ago, he lost bad.

The libs just dont get it. Iraq is a war against terror (now).

The way the terrorists fought the war in Iraq is that they set off enough bombs in markets and mosques to make the Iraqi public distrust each other, and push the country into civil war.

Why shouldn't the terrorist center their attacks on the USA in Iraq? Their effort there has succeded in starting a civil war and according to many a defeat of the USA.

I don't accept the USA is defeated there yet. But if we ever are, the terrorists will move on to another place to put their effort into attacking us.

The 9/11 attack was planned out before GWB was elected, and the terrorists have been at war with us for some time even if we did not notice until 9/11.

The goal of terrorists is chaos, chaos undermines the alternative.

Iraq was chosen as a target by the terrorists because after the invasion there was fear of chaos. The terrorists used the fear of chaos to actually make it a reality. Eventually once they had "lit the fire" the war in Iraq has become self sustaining locally. The local hatereds can be erased if the fear of aditional instablity can be reduced. Additional troops in a surge helps.

If the war was not in Iraq the resouces of the terrorists would be devoted to soft targets here in the USA not well armed troops in Iraq.

There are a wide variety of terrorist organizations throughout the world. Several were initially organized, funded and perhaps given direction in Iraq via Suddam Hussein. These same organizations are still active in Iraq and are bent on controlling Iraq and its inhabitants. The mission of the US military has become an effort to ensure that Iraq becomes a free democracy and is held under the control of these organizations Other terrorist organizations reside elsewhere in the world and operate in much the same way.

What world do you live on? This holy war is being fought all through the middle east, Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Philippines, Europe, and the USA. Misguided war in Iraq? Yep. They are anywhere and everywhere, we have 6,000,000 in this country now.
We are fighting what we call "terrorists" through out the world. Iraq and Afghanistan are the most visible. Any true Muslim hates you if you are not of the same faith. You are an infidel a weed and it's their mandate if you will, to cut you out of God's garden. Never forget, if true Muslim,= no friend to Judo/christian, atheist, Hindu, Buddhist, or any one of the western culture.
Keep your head down, its going to get rough out there.

There are plenty of other terrorists besides the Islamic ones.
For many years during the 70s, 80s and 90s the american people supported the IRA who were killing British civilians, police and soldiers with the bomb and bullet.
That suddenly changed after 9/11. I wonder why.

They would be gathering and attacking places like Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, London, Paris, and a hundred other places if we weren't keeping them busy in Iraq. There are insurgents from all over the Middle East crossing into Iraq from Iran and Syria to try to run the US out. I would rather be fighting them there than in the streets of the major American cities.

Well, the terrorists we're currently fighting belong to a radical Islamic ideology. Check the map. We put the theater of operation in their own back yard. We didn't want the fight on allied soil, and we couldn't remotely defend invading any other country in the region so.....Iraq.

maybe bush put the title of the war this way THE GLOBAL WAR ON TERROR (silently ) and on oil. if it really was a global war american troops should have been in each and every country around the world especially columbia (columbia has the highest rate of terrorism in the world).

See, the jokes on the 85%ers. Its the War Of Terrorism, not the War On Terrorism. You want to find real terrorists? Check that "White House."

We are not "one tracked" on Iraq, you are.

The war against the west as declared repeatedly by radical mullahs, imams and clerics is happening in real time, all over the world.

Wake up and smell the jihad.

They seem to like it there for some reason. But better there, than here (I'm not saying where I am).
