The Merkava tanks are said to be designed as the most survivable tanks in the world, yet 4 were lost to these portable shoulder fired rockets or guided missles in the wide open spaces of Lebanon. Is this just another example of marketing and militarized P.R. tactics to help create an Illusion of Israeli Invincibility, you think?

AP : The guardsmen express a wide range of views about the war and their chief mission: protecting Army contractor KBR's supply trucks from attacks and roadside bombs. Halliburton Co., which owns KBR, and its former chief executive, Vice President Dick Cheney, come in for their share of criticism, as does the media's portrayal of the war.

Is she getting what she deserves for disrespecting her son and using his death for her own personal gain? I personally believe that she is getting what she deserves and shouldn't have even been taken to the hospital. Maybe she would have seen her son sooner than she thought.

How can i site like that be allowed to exist? it shows victims of rape, freak accidents and beheadings. what gives them to right to display videos of peoples sufferings. ijust saw a russian solier who was beheaded by chechniyan terrorists. what an insult to his memory to have his beheading showed to everyone, also imagine how his family must be feeling.

Very close to the 5 year annivers of 9/11(so a good reason to up everyones attention, try to install confidence/moral and say to terrorists were on the ball!), very close to several situations that might entail us going to war again( therefore public happier to go to war). Im not a conspiracy theorist, but just a thought!

another male, could he discharge or report the matter and begin an investigation to discharge this person which would contradict one of the tenets of the "Don't ask.Don't tell.Don't pursue."?And what if this serviceman was an excellent officer with a blemish free record and who has performed his duty above and beyond? Is it right to dismiss someone for what they do off base and off duty regardless of what they do while on base and on duty-keeping in mind that those actions aren't illegal in accordance to the laws of the land?

I know that this has to happen. The fact that people get discharged for being gay suggests that at least on a few of these occasions it wasn't because the officer was prancing around yelling "I am gay, discharge me!".And I know that for every person who is discharged for being a homosexual there are probably ten others who managed to remain.I even know a Vietnam Marine Vet who saw action and was gay and managed to serve with honor even though he was gay.

just something i don't understand. a person joins the army and when the goin' gets tough - they complain. the army is an institution with one - and only one - duty: TO FIGHT WARS. that's why they have weapons and tanks and all the other equipment to kill. what do you expext when you join the army? you aren't joining a party club or a sports team. it's for fighting a war!!

It's generally accepted that 9/11 kicked off the round of madness that resulted in huge casualty numbers in Afghanistan and Iraq, yet some people clearly still think more civilian deaths in the West will end it. Why?

you have no right to complain about it! American or not, I don't care what your political party is, if you do not have a loved one, or even know anybody who is in Iraq or Afganistan that you should shut the hell up about how horrible it is. My husband alone has been there 2 1/2yrs total, I get really tired of "civilians" who have no personal affiliation complaining about how it affects them and how they feel. I get tired of telling my children daddy will be home soon, that no matter what that other jerk said daddy is a good man who is doing good things. So if you have nothing to do with the war, why in the hell do you care!!!

remember this awnser is not acceptable "NONE they would
both nuke each other" because India just got a missile defense system from Israel in 2005.

How do you feel about all this ranting on here about our husbands fighting a pointless war? Do you get tired of having to defend your spouse because of those that won't stand up for their country, especially when they are more than happy to complain about it?

My hopes are that we wipe communism off the face of the earth, destroy the terrorist leaders, and that America and our allies will achieve more territory in which our way of life is spread throughout the world. with less nations, and getting rid of all anti american nations would benifit the world. I mean that with every nation working togethor with trust and friendship, we will be able to achieve much more. the world would be safer and peace will rule for remander of time.what are your thoughts? if you disagree why?
