It's generally accepted that 9/11 kicked off the round of madness that resulted in huge casualty numbers in Afghanistan and Iraq, yet some people clearly still think more civilian deaths in the West will end it. Why?

i think 9-11 represents a link in a chain. why do you think it represented a beginning?

i do not think that is how they see it. to me, it looks as though the middle east has been imploding for a long time. some people there become so convinced that it is our fault that they cannot think of reasons not to try to harm us. i don't think the goal is to get a specific, immediate result like "if we kill this many new yorkers, maybe x will happen". it is a cycle of violence that keeps some people (like osama) in power there, because the avenues to power work like that in countries that aren't functioning. if you grow up in that, why wouldn't it seem like a reasonable way to live your life?

the thing that upsets me, is that i don't think knocking over the countries these people come from has the effect of reducing terrorism. i don't think 9-11 kicked off a round of madness, but i think we're now seeing the beginning of the round from the iraq war.

To bring you where they want !!But the terrorists are within world wide government !

They are the Illuminatis, and they own you,
This is the New World Order, and it is your future if the world don't wake up :

And this is what Bush’s minions had to say in 2000;-
"Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor"
Project for the New American Century (2000)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_for_the_New_American_Century

“Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
Hermann Göring(Nazi) 1946 Nuremberg Trials

"We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order."
David Rockefeller: Statement to the Untied Nations Business Council in September 1994

"For more than a century, ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with other around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that is the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it." David Rockefellers memoirs (2002)

They have a misguided belief which leads them to think if they carry out enough acts of terror, America will stop its occupation of muslim countries and withdraw its support for israel. They, much like the americans fail to see force will only further polarise views and lead to more destruction.

By the way 9/11 did not start this cycle. History goes back more than five years. America has supported Israel and has played the middle east for quite a long time prior to 9/11

they think if they kill enough civilians the American people will insist the government stop the fighting. the sad part of this is they are right. the Americans haven't fought a war to "win" since WWII. even the first time in Iraq we stopped to soon, leaving a man in power that committed atrocities against his own people.

They want ,need , to be seen as winners !
Who's going to join the losing side , send them money or buy them weapons ?
Every time they get stopped it hurts their image , recruiting , fund raising .
We need to slap them down hard at every opportunity and Let the world know That X# of terrorists were permanently put out of business today .

Simple- in response to bigger and bigger attrocities committed by "the West".

It can and will end- start listening to their concerns like UK did with the IRA. History may repeat itself.

Everyone condemned the IRA, now they love them- media does wonders.
