How are you qualified to say that we are not wanted over there?
The Taliban and Al Queda dont want us sure, but the democratically elected government do, the people who are now allowed to practice religious freedom do, the women who can now get jobs and education do, the people from the northern alliance do, the afgan police and army do, the people who want to listen to music and fly kites do, the people who want to see soccer matches played in the Kabul stadium instead of it being used for public executions and sharia law trials do.
Afghanistan, unlike Iraq, is a noble cause and has achieved many things. It is a tue multi national engagement including Canada, UK, U.S, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium Holland and others.
It will only be a lost cause if we let the Taliban recover.

I spent a year over there working among the locals for a small NGO.
The people rejoiced all over the country when the US came and originally beat back the Taliban.
You have never seen such proud people showing off their ID cards that said for the first time in their lives they could go and vote for the person who would run the country.
They know the foreign forces are still needed. and most afghans are just as- no more frustrated- than we are about all the fighting going on - many of whom are NOT Afghan, but from Pakistan and other countries coming for nothing more than to take a shot at the US.
Truth is Afghanistan has never liked a foreign military presence. 100 years ago they kicked the British out 30 years ago the Russians. We need to hand control over soon to the Afghan military, because the people will tolerate foreigners only so long.
However they are NOT yet ready
Yes Canada needs to leave soon, but not yet.

I think it's good that Canada is in Afghanistan. I really believe they are doing the right thing since what happened to 9/11. I'd rather see them fighting there than in Iraq because they have a reason to be in there for peacekeeping and fighting terror. They're doing a great service to our nation and the world.

i believe that canada actually being in afghanistan is good because they are peacekeeping. we are doing a good deed but it is overwhelming our forces. some other stronger force should take over *cough* nato... the taliban regime should be brought down and kept down but i dont think force is the way. it's ridiculous how many of our troops are dying. canada isnt a fighting nation, it is a peaceful nation.

I do. The cause is just. The causalities are lamentable but the battle must be fought and it is the only place were troops are actually facing people involved in 9/11.
