These idiots protest at dead service members funerals. They protested tonight in Lubbock, TX. The funeral they protested was the second funeral for this mom and dad. This family has lost 2 sons in the war. I have met their parents before and they are stand up people. They did not deserve this protest at their son's funeral. If you ever feel that you are a true patriot, compare yourself to the Velez family. You will find there is more you can do for your country.

I am watching a video about General Eisenhower, starring Tom Selleck. it is very good. Everything I've ever read abou General Eisenhower makes me think he was a great military leader, with honor, guts, compassion and diplomacy. Does anyone agree with me? Maybe you admire someone else...who?

Can anyone whose in weapons research tell me if we're any closer to 'electromagnetic shield' type technology yet? Wern't the US supposed to be building the Star Wars programme to intercept inbound ICBMS? I mean if you can stick a shield up around your country - then it doesn't matter how many jehads you have declared on you - you can turn around and say yes - ''your grievances are noted'' - and then carry on with the neighbours wife as before. And while I'm about it - what's the truth about the film - The Philadelphia Experiment and the sequel. The films are supposed to be based on a true story aren't they ? Can any spooks out there give me the low down on that particular story - you know the one - make ship radar invisible and end up making ship ACTUALLY invisible. Did they get any further with that technology ? I know the US have a 747 that can shoot a lazer that can knock out ICBMS, but the shield stuff - fact or fiction - or is it just round the corner ?

I am just being a "mom", my daugher leaves 8/16 for Naval bootcamp. Not so much for her, but for me as well....
What will her first day, week, month be for her? I picture the worse case senario: getting screamed at in the face, and her break down, just as they try to do. I told her to do EXACTLY as she is told. What thoughts, advise or actual experiences can you share with me? Thank you!

Each chain has a heavy metal ball at the bottom...what purpose does this serve? I haven't noticed this feature on American tanks.

The mess was that Saddam Hussein and his Suni buddies had control of the country and were repressing the Shi'ites and the Kurds.

We eliminated Saddam and now the Shi'ite majority can exert their will. The Kurds are happy, although having their own country would make them even happier.

But now the Suni muslims are pissed off because Saddam is arrested and Suni power has been taken away, so the Suni are attacking the Shi'ite.

But we did what we wanted to do. Eliminated the Saddam-led power elite..

There is no way that a few thousand American GI's are going to run an entire country. Let the Iraqi people figure out how to do it among themselves. If the Suni regain power, then we'll deal with the Suni. If the Shi'ite are in control, then we'll deal with the Shi'ite.

We aren't muslims. It just does NOT matter to us whether Iraq is Shi'ite dominated or Suni dominated. We gave them the chance to be free. We can't hold their hands. Let them go their own way and hope for the best

We won the war to conquer Saddam Hussein.

Now there is a civil war in Iraq bewtween the Suni muslims and the Shi'ite muslims.

We aren't muslims so what do we care which side wins? Why stick around? Let's go home.

Hmmmm?

If you are deployed and they tell you you will be gone for 6 months, are the chances really good that you may be gone for longer then your 6 months? My husband is supposed to be back in november, but i have a gut feeling that he wont be home.

Israel is ruining the enviroment and they should pay for what they have done to these sea creatures. Where is the ELO when you need them?

Feb. 20 2003: “‘Do you expect the invasion, if it comes, to be welcomed by the majority of the civilian population of Iraq?’ Jim Lehrer asked the defense secretary on PBS’ The News Hour. ‘There is no question but that they would be welcomed,’ Rumsfeld replied, referring to American forces.
