my husband is in the navy, and we have a 2 yr old and a 3 mo old, hes seen our youngest for a day, then was shipped out, it doesnt get easier, if anything it gets harder.

It doesn't ever get easy when they go away. But you do learn to deal with the separations. Try finding a support group either at the military base of on line. Talking to other military spouses/girlfriends/partners will help some.
