There won't be until the Marine Corps is no longer a part of the Department of the Navy. Why should the Marine Corps set aside funding for both medical personnel and all of the facilities required for them to do their jobs when the Navy's is available for less money?

Maybe they can kick people out to free up the dosh.

The entire medical structure is by the Navy, the support facilities, supplies, dental, nurses, etc. I served with Marines in Vietnam...I am a doctor and it would be expensive and redundant to duplicate the facilities just for the Marines. At some locations, the Navy serves the Coast Guard, the Army and Air Forces...It is not bravery on the part of doctors or lack of muscle but having some of the most modern equipment, and elaborate facilities makes the Navy very attractive to new interns, residents and even older physicians and surgeons. A single heart-lung machine costs $$$$ so why damn the tax payers to set up additional facilties.... Besides the Navy has better coffee and food than the Marines
