And if so where can I find out about them? Also is there a list of registered sex offenders in Australia, and is it a requirement that they be registered?

Here in Los Angeles a few months back there was an incident .A guy, high on drugs, got in to an argument with his wife.He wound up barricaded ( with his baby daughter) in his place of business with the LAPD all around. In the end this guy comes out with a hand gun and fires on the Police officers. The officers fire back ,killing the man and the baby.

Now the Family of the Man and Baby are suing everybody. The officers, the PD and the City.

What was "supposed" to happen , who should the blame fall on?

I am perplexed by the question. What do you think?

We live in an apartment and my neighbor keeps on blasting loud rap music at night until 3-4 a.m. and I can't sleep. My bed sits in the wall deviding their unit and our unit. I already tried talking to them twice already. After I talked to them, they will keep the music low and will repeat again the next night. This is so annoying...

Should I call the police? What will the police do? By the way if this helps, I live in San Diego, CA.

When Bush inacts martial law next month after a fake terrorist attack, are you prepared to detain and kill Americans, Preform illegal searches, seize weapons(guns). All of which is completely against the Constitution of the United States Of America which you swore to defend!

(that is right, you swore to defend the constitution of the U.S. Not the country, army, police or the president)????

i was at a red light and trying to find my moms number in my phone so that i could call her and tell her id be late coming home. i had to run over to work really quickly to pick up my tips for the night and by the time i left it was 12:40 a.m. i had to go to a store and buy a phone card for my phone because i was almost out of minutes and im leaving for vacation tomorrow. im 17 and there is a curfew law but the officer didnt give me a ticket, he gave me what i think he said was a citation. i have to appear in court so that a judge can "determine the cost of the fine". let me add that right after i noticed that i had squelled my tires i stop them and i saw the cop in the parking lot watching me, and i saw him pull out and get behind me, so i pulled into a parking lot before he even turned his lights on. he was nice about it & everything. i just dont no what the average punishment is for this. i have never been pulled over before or gotten into an accident either. thanks for your help.

I am talking about in the remote areas of the Southern border. In these areas the Border Guards make contact with and chase drug runners frequently and if they are lucky they catch them.

As it is they can not shoot out tires and many drug dealers just turn around and drive back to Mexico with the Border Guards driving behind them with their lights and sirens on...the others just keep driving until they get to urban areas and then the border guards can't even pursue them.

it is strange though...those guys carrying hundreds and thousands of pounds of drugs do not stop for lights and sirens...I wonder why...

So Why can't the Border Guards use the PIT manuever or shoot out tires?

Spike strips to deflate the tires are also not effective in the wide open remote areas. The smugglers swerve around them with ease and also it is dangerous if the Border Guard is nearby because the smuggler could also swerve at him.

Is there a way to make sure he doesn't get away with it. PD detectives say the believe he did it but dont have enough evidence to take him down. Can I try going to the military and see if they'll look into it. This guy kill his wife any it doesnt seem like anyone cares. She's found dead in her pool two weeks before divorce was final and 2 days before her going to a different city for job interview.... so he gets kids and all her money. autopsy shows possible foul play. but no clear method of death found. He is being treated for bipolar disorder and was sent home from Iraq because he is suicidal. Bought a gun 6 month ago and went to her house with plans to kill himself infront of her if she didnt take him back. it's a really long story, so this is the short version. he picked the kids up from grandmas and stopped by her house, but didnt let them out. then came back in the car and took them for ice cream. when they got back she was in the pool with her running clothes on.

I reported the group and the individual and I haven't heard anything from the report center. As far as I know this group is still running. In this group I have been specifcly called a stalker and for women to watch out for me. These are serious false aligations. Is there any legal thing I can do with the website or individual?

When a cop comes up to you and handcuffs you and puts you in a cop car, is that being arrested or do you actually have to be takin to jail? For example, what if someone went crazy and the police handcuffed them and took em to the hospital instead of jail? Is it still arrest?

I mean, it's the 21st century, yet these guys dress for work like they are going to a rodeo or to feed the cows. Yeah, I know, the terms sheriff, deputy, bring thoughts of a tin star and a six-shooter but geeeeez, do they have to take it literally? I saw a picture of our county sheriff and there he was, boots, ten-gallon hat, western shirt, and a big belt buckle. OK, so maybe the whole western/country thing is his lifestyle, but wear it to work? What if he was a Harley rider, would he come to work wearing a black leather jacket, a black Harley t-shirt, and a doo-rag over his pony tail? I'm sorry, but its hard to have confidence in an elected official that looks like he just fell off the hay truck. Today's law enforcement is very up to date and hi-tech and they should look the part. Professional people should dress professionally! Even Sheriff Andy Taylor wore a police uniform in Mayberry.

A mother's worse nightmare and that dreaded phone call. "Mama, come quick. I've been in a bad wreck". I don't even remember the phone ringing - just "where are you and are you hurt?". It was a classic antique car - but very unimportant. He's 18, and never had a ticket or wreck. He turned in front of oncoming truck; he misjudged her speed. The speed limit was 35, and it took her 190 feet to stop after impact. The state patrol said her speed was at least 45, but he couldn't cite her because he couldn't prove it. State Patrol says it wouldn't have mattered if she was running 100, he still has to yield right of way, even if she's breaking the law. So, he did fail to yield but had she been running the speed limit he would have had time to make the turn. Witnesses agree. Is it worth arguing the point?

I got a ticket for $150 for going 32 mph in a 20 mph zone. It was less than a quarter mile road from a shopping center to the main road. There was no school, no people walking and no residences. There was nobody around, except a police in an unmarked car.

If I go to court, do I stand any chance to get out of that $150 fine ?

My friend was horrified that she had accidently left a magazine from a department store under some store flyers in the bottom of the cart and left the store without paying for it. She was afraid that she could have been charged with shoplifting. Could she have? If not might not some thieves try this trick themselves?

I have this friend who's brother is a complete moron to say the least. He is abusive to his step-son and animals, treats his family like crap and is very two-faced.

It's bad enough that his family has to deal with his crap, but I've also had to deal with it before and I was seriously considering filing a law suit against him for harassment and a hate crime.

I have Xbox live, so does him, his brother (my friend), and his wife. I have gotten harassing messages from him. He also thinks I'm gay (I'm not), and constantly sends me random, rude messages about 'being gay' over Xbox Live.

Isn't this considered harassment, a hate crime against gays (although, again, I am not gay)? Do I have the right to request these message logs from Microsoft from their records, because I have no access to them?

He also has threatened to yell at me for honking my car horn in front of his house when picking up my friend. I know for a fact he has a bad temper and I'm afraid of him assaulting me.

I have two parking tickets. I want to appeal them. In one, I'm blatently guilty. I was parked on the road in front of my house when the sign said "no parking on Monday from 7AM - 5PM." The other was for an expired meter. On that one, I actually thought the meter was busted...and the ticketing officer got the color of my car wrong (wrote "grey" when it is actually blue). The two tickets total $90...they're my first tickets in the city of Albany. I got them a day apart. Can I successfully appeal these mothers? If so, how? Thanks!

If someone is wielding a weapon against a police officer, is the officer trained to shoot with the intention of killing the would-be assailant or with the intention of immobilizing the attacker?

Are the deaths that occur from this sort of thing generally accidental - i.e. with live ammunition do they shoot for the legs, or arms - or the head/ Chest?

I think my wife's ex may have in some way "bugged" our house. He has often said things to my wife that only she and I have spoken about in the privacy of our own home. We already discovered a keylogging program he installed on her old computer and friends of his has warned us that he might have placed some sort of eavesdropping devise in the previous house that we now occupy. Our funds are limited so we are limited to as much "do-it-yourself" as possible. Any advise?
