An 85-pound German shepherd has become the unlikely face of the immigration debate in upscale Princeton, N.J., after a judge ordered the dog to be put down for attacking an illegal immigrant last summer.

Thousands of people have flooded the Internet and even petitioned the governor to ask that Congo be spared for his attack on Honduran landscaper Giovanni Rivera, who was injured seriously in June and later awarded $250,000 in insurance money.

Even Congo's owners, Guy and Elizabeth James, said their case has nothing to do with immigration. They claim their dog was provoked by Rivera.

"They hit my dogs. They grabbed my wife and that's what this case is about," Guy James said.

Currently Congo is living at home, and the James family has appealed the local judge's ruling to put him down. The case now is with New Jersey's Superior Court. http://www.abcnews.go.com/GMA/WaterCooler/story?id=3940538
“The illegal grabbed the wife and dragged her to the ground. Apparently, he was using her as a human shield. When the wife screamed at being assaulted, the dog attacked.”

Hmmm, why would he grab the wife and drag her to the ground BEFORE the dog attacked?

Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies arrested eight illegal immigrants on Saturday during a protest outside a Phoenix furniture store embroiled in a heated immigration debate.

Immigration activists have gathered on Saturdays for the past six weeks outside Pruitt’s furniture store to challenge Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s enforcement of immigration laws. Saturday was the first time deputies made arrests during the rallies. The day laborers were arrested on suspicion of violating immigration laws.

Deputies had arrested 24 illegal immigrants in the area before Saturday, but those arrests were not made during protests.

“I thought it was time to do something more about it,” Arpaio said Saturday night. “The Pruitt’s situation is getting out of hand. They are demonstrating every week and destroying this business. I don’t think that’s fair.”

Demonstrators began protesting at the store near Thomas Road and 34th Street in late October, when the store hired sheriff’s deputies to keep day laborers away from the property.

The store asked the sheriff’s office to help because they felt the presence of day laborers was hurting their business.

More than 100 protesters have shown up for the rallies, including officials from the American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona.

The union’s legal director, Daniel Pochoda, was arrested by deputies Nov. 5 after he was asked to attend a rally to observe the interaction between protesters and deputies.http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/103196

It causes honest and decent Americans to work hard to take back what the indecent, dishonest, and treacherous office holders in Washington have ceded away without lifting a finger. But I salute the business owner and the sheriff for starting to take back this country, even it is just one furniture store parking lot at a time.

I see that not only the U.S. has this problem, but European nations as well. Surely we all can't be wrong for opposing criminalty. Are we? Why do people feel they can disrespect our nations?

The freaking world has changed to allow this to continue. Too easy and outrageously abused. US and Canada both are getting ripped. Too many disloyal, greedy people have proven the time has come. No citizenship for marriage.

Me: 100% Against!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Amnesty (from the Greek amnestia, oblivion) is an act of justice by which the supreme power in a state restores those who may have been guilty of any offence against it to the position of innocent persons. It includes more than pardon, inasmuch as it obliterates all legal remembrance of the offence. The word has the same root as amnesia."

In other words, allowing those who have broken the law a free pass....

Could we apply for welfare?

In other words, would Mexico make our lives easier due to the fact that we are illegal...and do not speak the language

Or would they kick us out because we are illegal..

Today a judge ordered a German Shepard to be put down after it mauled an illegal immigrant. People around the US rally around the dog. Why is it when an illegal commits a crime the world wants to exterminate illegal immigrants but when a caucasian blows up oklahoma city or 4 black males murder an NFL star people dont really care to deport them?

With US firms unwilling to pay even minimal taxes, NAFTA has hardly produced the promised uplift in the lives of Mexicans. Ciudad Juarez Mayor Gustavo Elizondo, whose city is crammed with US-owned low-wage plants, expressed it plainly: "We have no way to provide water, sewage, and sanitation workers. Every year, we get poorer and poorer even though we create more and more wealth."

Falling industrial wages, peasants forced off the land, small businesses liquidated, growing poverty: these are direct consequences of NAFTA. This harsh suffering explains why so many desperate Mexicans -- lured to the border area in the false hope that they could find dignity in the US-owned maquiladoras -- are willing to risk their lives to cross the border to provide for their families. There were 2.5 million Mexican illegals in 1995; 8 million have crossed the border since then. In 2005, some 400 desperate Mexicans died trying to enter the US.
