An 85-pound German shepherd has become the unlikely face of the immigration debate in upscale Princeton, N.J., after a judge ordered the dog to be put down for attacking an illegal immigrant last summer.
Thousands of people have flooded the Internet and even petitioned the governor to ask that Congo be spared for his attack on Honduran landscaper Giovanni Rivera, who was injured seriously in June and later awarded $250,000 in insurance money.
Even Congo's owners, Guy and Elizabeth James, said their case has nothing to do with immigration. They claim their dog was provoked by Rivera.
"They hit my dogs. They grabbed my wife and that's what this case is about," Guy James said.

a rich man now, an illegal parasite. I wonder if he's aware of the fact that it is against the law to man handle a woman in her own yard? And when he is deported, he should have to leave all the money he made behind to offset his handouts and court costs! Save Congo!

What is the declaration of the dog ?
Hummm, NOW they say that the illegal was trying to rape the woman. Interesting.
But it seems to come a little late. The gardener was granted the insurance money.
I have the feeling that they didn't think to make that up before the gardener was granted the money. I am not sure if they can say it now and be considered true.
As far as I know, the illegal was to be put to sleep because of the danger to the legal dog.
Some people are requesting that the dog be awarded the congress medal of honor due to the attack to the criminal gardener.
We are waiting for the dog's declaration to analyze the possibility of the medal

The article I read said that the landscapers were told NOT to come on the property, or to stay IN their cars until the dogs were done eating (the landscapers were an hour early).
They came on the lawn and began hitting the dogs with metal rakes. Then when the dog responded, threw the owner down as a human shield. I think any dog would have the feeling that his "pack" was under attack and come to a pack-mates defense.
I've noticed that many dogs have a sense of who is trouble and respond accordingly.

See, illegals can sue and collect a lot of money. This is insane, and an issue that makes me boiling angry. Mrs. James should have collected damages for being assaulted. A guard dog is meant to protect against assault. Probably was staged by Rivera, wouldn't be surprised.
Hmm, I think I'll stage the same assault, and sue. I'm always looking for a way to abuse the system and make a fast buck ( yeah). But I'm a citizen and won't collect the same amount of money in damages.
The illegal should be put down. DEPORT DEPORT DEPORT. That is what the thousands should be petitioning for.

Even my dog won't stand for being hit by anyone or allow anyone to come between me and him. My dog does his job which is to protect me, my home, and those who reside here.
I hope that they have a countersuit against the illegal for the assault. And win the money back, the dogs life, and appeal case. They should also sue the company the illegal worked for. IMO Aren't the employers suppose to carry and have such coverage exactly just for these kinds of things?!!

When they say the illegal is resting at home, does that mean he was deported, or is he still in the USA. If he was treated in a hospital here, I do hope he has paid his bill. Mrs. James should file charges that she was assaulted by Mr. Rivera. Many illegals and their supporters say that being here illegally is not a crime, and they should be given a pass, but when one of their own has a chance to benefit from the failure of others they are sure to quick to collect $250,000

Wow, dog bites bring in a whopping $250,000 in insurance money. What would of happen if this were the illegals dog? Would the illegal have to pay a settlement ?

That IS insane! He should not have been able to collect the first red cent! He was here illegally, he had no business here! Congo should be given a medal! There is definitely something that needs to be fixed in our justice system!
