"The GAO study involved a population of 55,322 illegal aliens. They were arrested at least a total of 459,614 times, averaging about eight arrests per illegal alien. Ninety-seven percent had more than one arrest. Thirty-eight percent had two to five arrests; 32 percent had between six and 10 arrests; and 26 percent had more than 11 arrests. Eighty-one percent of all arrests occurred after 1990."

These statistics due not look good for people simply looking for a better life, I do not buy it.

I came to the U.S. as an International Student. I married my husband, a U.S. citizen and then lost my student status (so I am Out-Of-Status), I wish to apply for a Permament Resident Visa, what paperwork must I file? what forms should I file? should I seek legal assistance for being Out-Of-Status? Is there a different procedure, form, fee, fine, for being out of status? if there is, does it matter how long have I been out-of-status? the longer i have been out of status, the greater the fine, fee, etc.? What are some "normal, regular" lawyer fees for this kind of case? Please help if you are an immigration lawyer, and actually know what you are talking about. Or if you just recently wnet through the same situation, and know exactly what to do! thank you!

MY son was born in canada in 1987. I was (and still am) an American citizen, as is his father. I brought my son into the states at nine months old and we have been here ever since. when i crossed him at the american customs, he was declared an american citizen born abroad, i was able to get him a social security card with no problems and have had no problems until now. My son is now 19 and wants to join the Air Force. Now we are being told that since 9/11 the immigration laws have changed and unless i went to the american embassy at the time of his birth, and DECLARED him to be a american citizen born abroad, he i in this country illegally. Has anyone had any thing like this ever happen, if so...what did u do??

I am an American who is married to a Tunisian and have been living in Tunisia 5+ years. I want to file a petition for my husband to have American citizenship, and after reading the I-130 and G325-A forms, I have a couple of questions.

1. When it asks for copies, do these items need to be notarized copies or just regular copies?

2. Since the marriage, birth of my son, and the proceeding for my husband to adopt my daughter happened here in Tunisia, do you need just the English translations, or the Arabic correspondents to go along with them as well?

3. Our marriage contract it states that we have an antenuptial settlement based on communal estates. This means that everything is shared equal between us. Here in Tunisia bank accounts are not permitted when a person (me) is not a citizen of Tunisia. I do not work and nothing is in my name, my husband does all the supporting. Would that clause in our marriage contract be enough to prove this? What else would be proof?

So, the Americans won the land from Mexico. This land is not originally owned by the Mexicans. Shouldn't they ask for us to return California to the Chumash, Gabrielano and the Paiute? If the Mexicans claim America stole this land, Didn't the Mexicans and their Spanish Predecessor stole it too.
