I have a greencard valid until 2014. In the next 10 years, if I have to go back to my country for more than 2 months, what should I do? Can I come back to the U.S. with no problem after 2 or 3 months?

It is obvious that the federal government is not doing the job . They are also tying the hands of states , because it is considered a federal issue . .There was a very good reason why the Constitution was such , allowing states rights . Obviously with the exception of slavery , I think that the South had it right fighting for states rights .

i'm asking this based on a response i received from a yahoo user. this person claimed i was using the "race card" when it came to my stance on illegal immigration. yet referred to all illegals as being brown skinned. just wondered if that's what most people thought. do they believe all illegals wether they enter from mexico or wherever are brown skinned.

does it make it easier for him to gain citizenship and bring his family members? We have been married for 18 months, and after an argument he left the marriage, and will not reveal his where-abouts. But when I talk to him I feel like he's trying to keep me holding on as in buying time; is this perhaps my imagination just getting away with me, and this means nothing, other than him just being insensitive? Does this have anything to do with him getting citizenship?

What are your reasons for not wanting to become an American?

She never signed any INS forms, the marriage never even got beyond the ceremony, because the groom disappeared & had no contact with the broken hearted girl until he decided to contact her apx 6 months later to tell her to sign his paperwork so he could stay in the US as a student & keep his job! She never even saw her marriage license, but after I helped her to get a copy from the California County Courthouse, she then had his full name & address. She has no money for an annulment. What can she do to break free from this burden. His family is protecting his whereabouts & offered money to have the INS paperwork signed! She refused & wants nothing to do with this fraud of a man, yet she is legally married to him. What should she do? She is hiding from this man & his family of pressure freaks! It happened over 3 years ago & the INS will not help or give her a status report on his deportation status. Does she need a Lawyer? She just want to break free of this mess!

Why has Bush pardoned Johnny Sutton & other Mexican drug dealers but not our own border patrol guards that are just doing their jobs? Many petitions were sent to Bush from Republicans as well as Democrats to pardon the guards that are unjustly imprisioned & have been tortured & beaten in jail, but Bush just keeps on ignoring them. What does he owe these drug dealers & the Mexican government?

This is the situation. I am a Canadian & my fiance American. We met online over 2 years ago & have travelled back & forth during that time. He proposed & wants me to move there. No objections here. The thing is we want to live together (to truly further get to know eachother before we marry & make sure we are making the right choice) I know I can legally stay as a visitor in the US for up to 6 months, after that I must return. We dont want to file for a K1 visa before I enter the US because we'd have to marry within 90 days of me entering the US, & the point is we want to wait, live together & be sure. I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with US Immigration Lawyers. If I enter the US as a visitor and we wait let's say 3-6 months over when a visitor should stay, will an Immigration Lawyer still process papers for us? Like I said we want to be sure, and wait a bit on things and we hate the thought of having "timelines" in which we need to make our decision. Any thoughts would be great.

Did you know about the Border Patrol rules ?
Did you know that the two agents followed BP policy ?

Ramos and Compean were convicted last spring for shooting Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila, a Mexican drug smuggler, in the buttocks on Feb. 17, 2005. The agents are now serving 11 and 12 years, respectively, in federal prison.

The agents were convicted partly due to the government's successful argument at trial that the two men failed to file a report about the shooting.

But U.S. Border Patrol firearms policy specifically states that agents are prohibited from filing a report if a shooting incident takes place and that only an oral report to supervisors is required.

"Ensure that supervisory personnel or INS investigating officers are aware that employees involved in a shooting incident shall not be required or allowed to submit a written statement of the circumstances surrounding the incident," according to the firearms policy.

The DHS report, which was heavily redacted, notes the discovery of the cell phone as follows:

Aldrete-Davila stated that he had nothing in his hands as he ran toward the international border. When asked if he possibly could have had a cellular telephone in his hands, Aldrete-Davila reiterated that his hands were empty. He advised there had been a cellular telephone in the van, but stated it was left behind. [Agent's Note: The Form I-44, Report of Apprehension or Seizure, completed by Jose Compean, noted that a cellular telephone was discovered inside the van.

The DHS report failed to include the Form I-44 referred to in the above paragraph.
I can't figure out why so many high-ranking officials in our government are assisting this known doper and are actively trying to throw members of Congress off the trail by continuing to lie and misrepresent the facts."A full transcript of the Ramos-Compean trial has not yet been prepared or released by the U.S. District Court in El Paso. "It's shocking that Sutton continues to say there was no evidence on the scene against the drug smuggler, then we find out that DHS had Aldrete-Davila's cell phone all along," "All this makes me wonder who the drug smuggler Davila really is," Ramirez told WND, "and who Davila might have led to, provided Johnny Sutton had been interested in investigating. I can't figure out why so many high-ranking officials in our government are assisting this known doper and are actively trying to throw members of Congress off the trail by continuing to lie and misrepresent the facts."
