That they do something especially "Humane", something good???..
(I mean besides just good and humane side of adoption).
Why they think they are any better, then copule adopting american child???
Arent they playing little gods, deciding who will have a benefit of living and growing in US, and who will not. Why adoption of some amercan child is not so "good"???..
Besides celebrities,
I saw a couple, collecting money fto adopt guatemalan, like it is something different from regular adoption. Like for the good cause...

Miki M: You are not the persone i am talking here about. You adopted a child tht happen to be korean. You didnt specifically designed an idea to adop international, just to feel that you are better then others.

I cannot say what is in the minds of someone else but I can only talk for myself. I was stationed in korea with my husband some 28 years ago. We attended a company function as a local orphanage. There I saw a very small boy who was beaten and bruised, I was horrified that someone there had done this. I asked questions and found that although the bruises looked bad that it had happened some 6 to 8 weeks before. The sight of that child along with remembering my own childhood of abuse and beatings led me to a decision. If I cannot help all of these children who are beaten that I can help one. I contacted an agency in korea and started and completed the adoption process. We did not pick out a child. We were questioned about our likes and dislikes and a child was chosen for us. Sha came to us just before her second birthday. She had rough beginnings but she and I connected a very basic level. I embraced her culture so that she would have a pride in herself and her own. Adoption is not for everyone and not for the faint at heart. The children who are in these orphanages are hurt and have problems that go so deep. Sha is married with children of her own now. Happy and a christian woman who gives to all around her. I don't know what would have happened to the angry young girl if I had not come into her life. If your heart leads you in this direction then follow your heart. But it is a struggle each day to win this heart that has been so damaged by fate. It takes a life time of love to conquer the pain. Steadfast committment to her and tough love was the answer. I hope this helps you to understand. Good luck

There are far too many children right here in the US for anyone to have to adopt from another land.I feel they should adopt here in the US. It doesn't matter what color or race the child is ,as long as they are loved and cared for,by loving parents.I don't know why everyone wants a tiny baby there are so many older children that need to be adopted and given a family..Its like Oprah spending all that money in a foreign land when there are millions of black children in the USA that could have used a new school .Its just odd to me,that you wouldn't adopt in America and do your good deeds here first.I don't mean to be selfish but I care more for the USA than I do any other nation. Its my home.

People adopt outside of this country because the USA tends to favor birth parents and after having a kid for 5+ years and raising it like your own it can be taken away from you almost immediately if the birth parents want it back no matter how many papers they signed and such....also the process is hard in the USA my parents have adopted a lot of kids and run a foster home and the USA adoptions take much more time and money and after all that there is the risk that if the parent wants their child back they will get it back....international adoptions are much more solid with the adopted child staying with its family

Well, I don't know WHAT kind of people you are talking about, but most of the people who adopts kids (I am sure) do that because it's easier the adoption process internationally than in their own country....that's what they think but it is quite the same process adopting a child from the US, but they want to speed up the process. I am positive that the least thing that comes to their mind is think that they will become in some sort of Gods. So your comment is a way off the target.

The reason is not that they think themselves better. From personal experience, it is very difficult and the line is very long to adopt a baby in the U.S. It is easier but way more expensive to adopt a baby from overseas. Therefore I still do not have a child that my wife and I dearly would like to have.

Because life is good in the U.S. Bringing a child to the U.S. to share in the good things that are available to children is a good thing. Especially if they have no way to achieve these things in their own country if adopted by their own countrymen.
Even children who need parents in U.S. will have access to the good things like free education, good medical and lots of things that are simply not possible in other places.
I agree that there is some self-righteousness in the attitudes of some American parents, but I don't think I have ever met any who didn't want the children to simply love them. If they have decided to adopt, and the children in Guatemala would benefit more by this adoption than a U.S. child, then it does seem like a more 'humane' action. It allows one more child to achieve a good life that might not otherwise.

You can thank the courts in this country.
That are willing to take children from the foster homes and put them back with the birth mothers without question.
If I am rasing a child I don't want to live in fear of the mother coming back and taking the child back. There isn't a thing I can do about it.

Wow...My greatest puppy peeve to commence off my day! How is it not procuring a baby once you should fundraise to do it? have you ever requested your self that question yet? do not you imagine that's suspicious that there are supposedly countless those children who desperately choose homes, yet you should beg, borrow and scouse borrow to deliver one abode? Does it not stand to reason that if it became the type of determined situation, it should be loose, or a minimum of, very decrease priced? complication-free sense. C'mon. children in foster care are in choose of households. and because they are in choose of households, the authorities makes it affordable, or perhaps loose, to undertake them. Get it? No, you at the instantaneous are unlikely to get countless help right here. I attempt now to not be an a$$hollow, although the "adoption fundraising" BS makes me loopy. Argh.

I know what you mean. Isn't it awful, these bleeding-heart types? Now, if they were Conservatives, they'd breed like normal people and send their children to Jesus Camp where people would put red tape over the children's mouths and teach them how to hate and hurt people with broom sticks. Jeeeeeze, these weirdo bleeding heart types are really not with the game plan, are they?

the red tape is harder in foreign countries. if a person is famous it is easier. but any adoption is better then none.
