So, the Americans won the land from Mexico. This land is not originally owned by the Mexicans. Shouldn't they ask for us to return California to the Chumash, Gabrielano and the Paiute? If the Mexicans claim America stole this land, Didn't the Mexicans and their Spanish Predecessor stole it too.

I did not say the Land belongs to the US nor did I say it belongs to the Native Americans. I'm saying if you use the logic of SOME Mexicans, the land is still not theres. I don't disagree with Some Mexican American having long heritage in Western US, some of them having Apache blood and other who lived in what is now the US for well over 150 years. I'm just miffed at postings from those like Saint and Que Pasa, who allegedly are illegal immigrants who keeps telling us to get out of their land .

I didn't see so much of this lately until Mexico lost the soccer game last night. Of coure the call has been raised again to reclaim their lost lands from the greedy americans. Hoo boy, it makes ones head hurt.
Lokata Woman: I don't think anyone agrees with what happened to the native people then or now, but you lose any support with callous words such as "white scalps". The simple fact is that your people never had a choice or a chance. Thats not boisterous, more like a sad commentary what greed can accomplish. World history shows that to the victor goes the spoils. Borders are made this way and will be till the end. Now everyone should ask themselves what do they do to improve the situation. I don't think blogging inflammatory words are going to improve anyone's situation.
As for the poster who said grow some cajones and do something. You only seem to have cajones when you are writing on your computer in a country that allows you the right to do so. As soon as you and others who feel this way unite and march on Mexico without fear of reprisals, and force the changes necessary there, I will believe YOU have cajones.

Illegal aliens don't think there's no border? Where do you get that from? The news? They don't care, they're just trying to survive! Most Mexicans work twice as hard for what they got. Plus it wasn't there's it was the native americans and other souther indian tribes. I live in south texas and my great-grandparents crossed to the US to provide more for their family. The mexican government is to blame, in my opinion. There are some who come over here to buy and go back and sell to their people and earn money, way too much money, but that's how they know to survive. There are some, who are just like americans, get involved in polotics, but in a different way, with wepons! And kill our border potrol who are just trying to protect both sides! MY OPINION

Here's the cold hard facts: land, countries, regions, etc. have always been up for grabs and still are. You either fight for it and keep it or it gets taken away. It's happened all over the world for as long as man has been here and it will happen until the earth is gone. So if the Native Americans (a misnomer in my view) are pissed off about their land being taken away, they should have fought harder to keep it. Same with the Indians in Mexico when the Spanish showed up. Instead of giving the world Mexicans, they could have kept their women separate from the conquistadores. If the Mexicans think this land was theirs, again, they should have fought for it. And now they're trying to steal it back, one piece at a time.

Good point. The land Mexico is claiming the US "stole" from them was never originally theirs in the first place. It belonged to Native American tribes before it was conquered by the Spaniards.

Actually, I haven't seen many postings about "returning the land to the Mexicans." I've seen postings saying, "Why do you think you own this land when my ancestry has been here longer." The two mean very different things.
Land has always been stolen. I'd kind of hoped we'd moved past that, but who knows?

All of the "Natives" in the Americas are of Mongoloid descent. I suggest the lot of them go back to Mongolia.
See how silly the argument of "we were here first" is?
If you really want to get rattled, see the evidence that Whites were in the Americas as far back as 7000 BC at the link below. Then get back to us.

Yes, thank you for using your brain. There was even a treaty at the end of the war. Mexico was paid 15,000,000 for the Western United States. I think that makes it ours, fair and square.
