I think it is wrong and a slap in the face to the law abiding people who have immigrated through the proper channels. The illegal immigrants are being rewarded for breaking the law and others are paying the price as immigration fees continue to rise.

I think the fees are fine right now and should not be increased. I spent like $ 2 000 applying for the green card and that is enough for me. In addition, I paid for my insurance (no medicaid), I paid the out-of-state tuition for college ( I heard in some states illegals pay the in-state tuition), I do not plan to have children just to stay in the country ( i will have children when I feel I can support them).
I did everything the right way, the longest and most expensive way; nevertheless, I found myself explaining to people that I am in the country rightfully because of the prejudice that all hispanics are mexicans and that all mexicans are illegals ( which is not true).
I feel that being an legal alien is not as profitable as being an illegal alien ( free health care, free education, driver's license, in-state tuition) : (

Soon all of this will be moot. It's official. As brought to us by Bush while racists were distracted, we became one Superstate. N.A.F.T.A., as you know, is an economic alliance between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Without Congressional over-site, Bush this winter signed into law a political extension of that agreement in which the three nations are now the new North American "Superstate" called SPP. All borders are to be "streamlined" and eventually eliminated, major new toll highways are already planned to connect all three nations (including the big one eight football fields wide right up through the center of the new Superstate that the King of Spain will hold the lease and profits from), a common currency (eventually, not at first) and common citizenship. Mexico gets a big chunk of Kansas to use as a staging area for it's highway construction and maintenance contracts. Most of the roads, bridges, docks and ports that U.S. taxpayers have paid for have been leased out to foreign and domestic "developers" who have leases to turn our roads and such into tollroads. New eminent domain laws, also brought to us by Bush and Republican Conservatives, will allow these developers to take whatever land they want. This is all FACT and is beginning. Here is the new government's official website: (Racism is a mental disease. And, anyone promoting intolerance, racism, hate or violence is not an American and needs to get out of this nation.)

I went through the whole thing of getting a green card. It cost me thousands of dollars and took three years, a little bit over actually. To get citizenship, it will cost me thousands more and at least another three years. Throughout this time I have paid taxes, a lot of taxes. As I do not yet have citizenship I cannot vote so no politician cares what I think. It really makes me mad that there is a movement to give citizenship to illegals who have never paid taxes, have just taken out of the economy and never contributed to it. Why should they receive preferential treatment. I have done everything legally and got treated like a criminal at my final green card interview while the criminals could get everything given to them. I do not get medicaid, I pay my way. Maybe if this is passed into law I should leave and then re-enter illegally and get citizenship that way, it would be quicker and cheaper for me.
As for Go Moody Trojan, you really should read my post and not try to distort it for your own biases. I did not blame anyone, I made a statement of fact. The system is biased towards illegals. I did it legally and got treated like a criminal. Illegals get everything given to them but I did not blame the illegals for my treatment, I blame people like you who are so blinded by your bigotry.

You make a good point. However, its hard to take away from the people that are living under the radar (so to speak). Now to make it more balanced, every person who is living here illegally should have everything they own stripped of them except the clothes off their backs and sent back home. Use those moneys to help fund the ever growing cost of trying to get people to immigrate legally.
I really wish some of the LEGAL immigrants would take a national stance on this issue.

No I don't think is wrong. I also agree with you about the illegals. All they care about is the country they came from and that's the reason they are sending all that money and milking our country dry. When are we going to learn and defend our way of life and country..

I don't think it's fair to do this to those have gone about this correctly. I can assure you......it still won't fly with the illegals. We'll be accused of "targeting" the latinos and poor who can least afford an increase.....blah, blah, blah.....then what if they can't pay it? I doubt they have a lifetime payment plan........it's not like they can take the money from tax returns.......so there's still gonna be more screaming about deportation.......and they'll fight and drag that on our our dime......while the citizens and those who have played by the rules since day 1 will once again foot the bill..........
I'm with you Elizabeth.....seems the rights lie with the law breakers.....I guess crime does pay. Welcome Elizabeth.......I applaud you for all your efforts......this must tick you off big time. I'd still write your congressman etc. You have a better chance of being heard than the long time citizens do.

Maybe it will encourage them to do something about stopping their countrymen who entered the country Illegally to do the same. The process is not that hard. Who wants to be bothered with those who have no moral baring or character? It will help replace money to American coffers, being stolen by illegal aliens! They are not our responsibility. It is our responsibility to make sure that we get the best of the best, that are law abiding.

no -- let them help pay for the 20+ million illegal alien criminals / Besides, even though they are legally here, many are still taking services that are probably more than they are paying in taxes
How do you expect to take it from the 20+ million illegal alien criminals - they don't pay taxes, they just take!
Actually I wouldn't want then to file tax returns. Their income is so low that they would be potentially able to get earned income tax credits. That means they don't pay taxes, they get lots of social services and they GET more money than they ever pay in as a tax refund!

Raising fees will do nothing but cause more to come illegally. Many can not afford to pay the fees that exist now and that is the reason they come here illegally.
And just so you all know, immigration reform is not granting automatic citizenship to those that are here illegally. It is providing a path for them to eventually become citizens if they wish and they will be paying thousands of dollars to accomplish this as well. it is a way to document the ones that are here now, cause face it people we can not deport every single one of them and should not deport the ones that have american families here. Family Unity first before anything else.
