She just got laid off her job (lack of available work), only gets unemployment, applied for jobs, no one called yet, needs food, medicine, and utility bills are past due. If she claims 'non-citizenship' (not a citizen anymore) couldn't she get medicaid, food stamps, subsidized housing, could drive w/o paying for car insurance, etc?

(Of course this is not true, it is a scenario to show how Americans are being railroaded. I wouldn't really do it.) We might be better off leaving, denouncing our citizenship and returning as an illegal alien. We would be at home, but would get all the benefits we've already paid into the system for 30 to 40 yrs. or more before the real illegals use it all up. If we wait until we need it or until we retire it won't be there.

It's just something to think about. They're breaking into our "Piggy Bank".

I had similar question once before, sorry for not making it clearer. My true reason for going to Nigeria(which does not involve 419 scam and the blinded by greed stupidity of my fellow Americans) is about a girl. A simple sweet girl that lives a life like any other. Her sister already lives here in the US. and I am in contact with both now. I trust there are good Nigerians like my love, but the real question will the Nigerian immigration grant my stay as a tourist to see a woman I have never met. we need to meet so I can start a process of living with her or living in the US. Any thoughts? Please be gentle!!!

20-30 Million illegal immigrants in U.S.
4 billion people in the world living under the poverty line defined by IMF.
How many of these would, given the opportunity, try to illegally immigrate to the U.S.?
How would this affect our society, economy, environment, population?

If you are against illegal aliens, like myself, you are called a racist.

Definition:
Racism is a belief system or doctrine which states that inherent biological differences between human races determine cultural or individual achievement — with a corollary that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others

So, illegal alien must be a race or country. I'd like to know where it is! Especially in light of the fact that a multitude of races make up the collective group known as illegal aliens. (whites, blacks, asians, middle eastern etc)
I'm a loss as to how expecting someone, from amywhere, to follow the laws of a country is somehow racist. Following that logic, I must be a racist if I expect people not to shop lift or steal cars or murder and it turns out that a higher percentage of one race is represented in arrest figures. Same logic.
If anything, accusing someone of being a racist, with no facts or evidence, is actually racist on the accusers part!

the only difference between americans and mexicans is the number of natives we had to kill to get our land

in reality, neither of us own any land since we both had to ruthlessly massacre masses of natives in order to get what we call "our land"

do you agree or not?

yay or nay?

I have nothing against white people; my best friend is white. That being said, I have noticed a common rejection towards foreigners from both Europeans and European-ancestry Americans. I have also noticed that the attitude is exactly the same, they invent arguments like "they are taking over," or "they don't want to adapt." In Europe they have this problem with Middle-Easterners and Eastern Europeans (kind of weird). So may someone please explain how this connection is formed? I never see Asians or South Africans complaining about people "taking over." I forgot to mention Australia also has this problem, any ideas?

the following poem won me first place at a poem contest.

do you think it deserved to win?

Steven Bonafide Rojas

Invisible Ones

We walked
We talked
We bought
We fought
We lived
We died

We are the ones
With accents in conversations
Who get passed by on every street
As something else
Urban jibaros
Questions of skin complexion
Light or dark
¿De dónde eres?

We who are
In the middle of every discussion
Of race relations because we are dark light
Spanish English speaking tongues
Broken dialects to go with broken dreams

We who are
Fed images of false equal opportunities
And non-green carded citizenship
Capitalism and congressman
Put us all in the arms of big brother
The stranglehold of the IRS taxes

We who are
Cursed by machismo
Love salsa and meringue
Battled for self respect and our independence
Considered second-class citizens,
A prize of war of bloody Sundays
Radiation treatments

For I will tell you
Bombed by Vieques and bombed by Bushwick
Gentrified Harlem and justice rallies

Your existence we protested
And you fired your utensils of death
On women, children, and men
All dressed in white

Invisible

We who breath
The same polluted air
The same infectious water
Pray to the same gods
Sit by each other on the same train
Eat food in the same places
Listen to the same music
Attend the same schools

But are always in the middle

Trapped in the television of life
That’s black and white
Never believed in Technicolor dreams
Only in the color of green
Underpaid and over slaved
Sweatshops and chop shops
In a schizophrenic American dream

Invisible

We who fought
Over which island is better than which
On New York streets
Speaking colonized English
Instead of colonized Spanish
And fight over who has
The better food, better music,
Better ball players and better cars
Which are either American, Japanese, or German made

Never understood that we’re all from a history
That neglected us
Transformed us from savage Indians
To 21st century Pepsi pop stars
And never cared for our culture
Unless they can make a profit out of it
A media that bleaches our color
From our skin and believes
We all come with Eurocentric features with English tongues

We have afros and dreads
Straight hair, curly, kinky
Black, blonde, red hair
Thin and thick lipped
Brown eyes, blue, green
Hazel contacted eyes
Full spectrum of life
Rainbow’s beauty
Never understood
Our full potential
For our darkness and brightness
We are the invisible ones

We walked
We talked
We bought
We fought
We lived
We died

But all we wanted was
To be seen, heard, and respected
Because we bleed
Like everyone else does.

And don't say anything about taking over other countries?. It is a fact that in 50 years most of the population will look hispanic and that your daughters or sons will have Martinez or Hernandez as a last name. americans don't like to hear this, but yet they critiziced Apparteid and the Nazis. Why are they so upset to know that California, Arizona and Texas is going to be mostly mexican again?

Let's face it, they're a great source of cheap labor, are unlikely to complain if they're exploited, and "protecting the borders" has become a major industry in Texas and other border states.

Legitimize the workers, and they'd have to start paying workers a living wage and provide reasonable working conditions. Build an impregnable wall and deport all the illegal aliens, and not only do they lose an awesome vehicle for funneling billions to border states, but the Family Groups lose yet another "enemy" to use as a convenient fundraising tool. And, a scapegoat for a whole assortment of social ills.

Not to mention destroying the economy of a number of predominantly "blue" booming communities in the West and Southwest that rely on cheap migrant workers to build their homes, till their fields, and flip their burgers.

The low levels of education among Hispanic parents, a second major factor contributing to Hispanic immigrant child poverty is the high level of family disintegration among Hispanics, both immigrants and non-immigrants. Out-of-wedlock childbearing is more common among first-generation Hispanic immigrants than among any other immigrant group. In the U.S. in 2003, some 42 percent of children of first-generation immigrant Hispanic mothers were born outside marriage. Among black immigrant mothers, the rate was 39.5 percent; among Asian immigrants, 11.6 percent; and among white non-Hispanic immigrants, 11.2 percent. Among native-born Hispanic women, the out-of-wedlock childbearing rate is even higher at 49.6 percent.

In general, children born and raised outside marriage are seven times more likely to live in poverty than are children born and raised by married couples. Children born out of wedlock are also more likely to be on welfare, to fail in school, to have emotional problems, to abuse drugs and alcohol, and to become involved in crime
