If they are actively seeking an American then it is pretty darn obvious. These marriages NEVER work either, they get their card and run. I am of an age where I have seen it time and time again.

But, if you really think it might be love, offer to move to their country and apply for citizenship. They will come up with their list of excuses then!

when deny them the signature they will need to get the visa. If they leave you then you know. Signs: they keep asking. They get the information for you. The ask " Will you help me get my visa" before they say "I love you will you marry me" Now days to get a permanent visa your required to stay married for a certain amount of time. They give you two temporary visa before they grant you the permanent one. I think if I am not mistaken the first one is for 5 years and the second one is for 2. If you divorce before then they do not get the permanent one. On one of your appointments they seperate you from each other and ask very personnal questions. Like what draw is your wife/husband underware in. They compare the answers and if they think there is missing information they will deny the visa.

They will talk more about the threat of being deported rather than about their love for you. They will try to rush you into making a decision. They will even threaten to leave you if you don't help, and say it's how you must prove that you really want to be with them. If you are very careful you can find them eying other prospects in case it doesn't work out with you. They will cheat on you.

they do not want to spend time with you, only asking questions about your country and when they can come visit
if they can only talk about visa's and immigration. they pay no attention to the relationship and it seems to be only about themselves. you need to be with the person for a while to actually know if he/she only wants u for a visa. though still keep your eye open...

offer to move to their country and live there with them and see what they say. tell them that you've always wanted to live outside your country and would be willing to give up your citizenship for theirs.
