We are awaiting a K-3 Visa for my wife to come to USA. I've just received a NOA from Depart. Homeland Sec. confirming my sent I-130.Yesterday, we received the awful news that my wife has rheumatic heart failure. We're devastated. I have to go back to Philippines to support ourselves emotionally.Trouble doing so would mean being out of work in the states, thus ruining my status to show to the INS my financial ability to support her.I'm really beat up right now.Maybe I could ask family to help financially.Maybe a law maker could assist,I have no idea. If her health worsens,I'd rather she be in the states.I just feel helpless.Even if i act on what's in my character,it seems these actions would backfire the immigration mandates.I'm just overwhelmed.

Shouldn't Mexico take care of their people? America needs to take care of it's people first and then it can help the truly needy people of the world in Africa and other places.

does anyone else think we should close the border to canada too? we all hate mexicans because they take the jobs that we don't want. it would be our worse case scenario if canadians took the jobs that we actually wanted. does anyone else see that american is slowly being taken over by foreigners? each group of people, iraqis, mexicans, blacks, and now canadians? when will this stop!

It sure seems like they are saying, just anyone should be allowed in. If the police stop any of them, the term profiling comes into play. Are the pro legal turning American into a nation where we we're once a nation of laws ? They are being caught at the border every day other people than Mexicans. When there is panic in the air will they want law and order or countinue to play the race card? And say they only want a better life?

This isn't my insinuation of being 'for' or 'against' but with alot of politicians promising to be harder on illegal immigration and such, and citizens protesting against it, I wondered what does their presence here actually cost us and does it really outweigh deportation. I imagine with no card and such you can't really take away too many jobs from anybody or take any college entrance spots. Even non-citizens with work or school visa's can't get loans and so forth under many circumstances so its impossible for an illegal one to get it. So what do you think we pay for? Im not really asking where you stand so much as the logistics of their impact on american society.

I figure their perceived toll on society must be very great if we are the same people who believe imposing democracy on the rest of the world is in their best interest, that we need to give more and develop poorer countries but we don't want to open our own home to help them out in the process. Is this hypocritical?

Why do many rich citizens of the US have a dilusional fear that the "undocumented" worker from the south are here to take things away from them?

Don't many of them realize they made it rich be taking advantages of paying dirt wages when they had the chance be it to legal or illegal workers to get to where they are?

I'm 15 and I live in Toronto, Canada and I want to go to UNC or Duke in North Carolina for university when I'm older, on a student visa, but I want to stay in the US once I'm finished there. Am I able to do that? Because I asked someone here and they said once I'm done university in the US on a student visa, I have to go straight back to Canada. So it's impossible for me to stay after university and get permenant residency / green card and get a job? Because I would rather live there than here in Canada, I really like it there and I want to live there.

I'd like to peoples take on what would happen to the US economy if all the "undocumented " immigrant workers were removed in one day?

It's obvious they are an important part of the economy and have always been and some sort of reform needs to be put in place.

What documentation is needed for me to travel to Japan to see my nephew (who lives abroad with his American mother and Japanese father) and return with him to the U.S.? He is a minor who holds a U.S. Passport. Do I need a consent letter from his parents allowing me to enter the country with him?

Any information would be greatly apprciated. :)

Maryland may join 10 other states in allowing illegal immigrants to qualify for in-state tuition rates at the state's public colleges.

Democratic Delegate Victor R. Ramirez claims " We're allowing people to cut our yards, wash our cars, clean our houses for probably very cheap wages, the least you can do is let their children have an opportunity , that's the American way."

My question was directed at using EMPLOYERS of illegal immigrants as an excuse. The employers should punished for hiring illegals not as a whitewash to getting illegals more benefits.
Isn't that just giving employers that hire illegals an out ?
Or in some twisted fashion justification for breaking the law when they hire illegal workers - they not only get cheap labor but their children are being USED as legislative leverage ?

Is it because our politicians no longer work for the people of this country?

Our country's founders revolted for politicians ignoring what the people wanted ("taxation without represention").
