Maryland may join 10 other states in allowing illegal immigrants to qualify for in-state tuition rates at the state's public colleges.

Democratic Delegate Victor R. Ramirez claims " We're allowing people to cut our yards, wash our cars, clean our houses for probably very cheap wages, the least you can do is let their children have an opportunity , that's the American way."

My question was directed at using EMPLOYERS of illegal immigrants as an excuse. The employers should punished for hiring illegals not as a whitewash to getting illegals more benefits.
Isn't that just giving employers that hire illegals an out ?
Or in some twisted fashion justification for breaking the law when they hire illegal workers - they not only get cheap labor but their children are being USED as legislative leverage ?

They are fine with draining our services we pay for (including in state tuition) to tempt their slave wage workforce to work for less than Americans would. We get hit with failure of services for our own folks, with the cost of those services, and with the result of the illegal immigrants working for less and driving down wages for those legally here.

What he really wants to say is, it's o.k. to have slave labor. Why would he say we allow ? We don't allow it, maybe he does but we sure don't. No illegals aliens are washing my car or mowing the grass or even growing grass.
