I'm doing a paper on third parties, and I need to know the current members of Congress (both the House and Senate). Can someone please give me a link to where I can find a current listing with the members. I need to know their party (I need to see how many third party reps are in office), but I don't really need thier names~ just the current balance. Thanks~

With 2/3 majority, congress has the ability to pass whatever laws they want without threat of presidential veto, they are able to pass laws that affect how the president must do things on domestic issues and foreign ones too.

Does this mean that when a party countrols 2/3 of congress, the speaker of the house (leader the party in majority of congress) becomes more politically powerful than the president?

I went to the Social Security office today to ask some questions about this new work program to help disabled people go to work, & the lady was very rude. No matter what state I go to, they're rude @ the DMV, the SSA office, the post office.

I asked the lady a question & she told me, "Look @ the packet & read it. It's not our job to explain it to you. Do it yourself!" I told her I have reading comprehension problems & needed it to be explained verbally, & I had a few questions. & when I I told her about my comprehension problems, she said, "I SAID READ...THE...PACKET!!!!! We have nothing to do with that. It's YOUR problem. You handle it yourself or don't join the program at all!"

I guess I made a blank trip over there for nothing. I'm glad there wasn't a long line.

The bill calls for the United States to cut carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions by 70 percent by 2050 from electric power plants, manufacturing and transportation.

The legislation was introduced by Republican John Warner and Independent Joe Lieberman.

It would create a "cap-and-trade" system whereby companies would have pollution allowances that they could sell if they went below the emission limits, or buy if they found they could not meet the requirements.

The trading is aimed at reducing the economic impact of putting limits on carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels, the leading greenhouse gas.

An amendment by Sanders (I-Vt.) calling for an 80 percent reduction in emissions by 2050 instead of 70 percent was defeated 12-7.

Climate scientists generally recommend an 80% reduction in emissions by 2050.

So what do you think of this bill? Too aggressive? Not aggressive enough?

I'd get fired if I tested positive, why should taxpayers give money to people who are buying and doing illegal drugs? I've got nothing against tax-paying people who smoke pot or do other recreational drugs in moderation, it's their choice, and it is a private matter. Just like the everyday working Joe that goes out for a beer or two after work, but why should taxpayers have to pay for someone who's abusing the system? You want your check? We're going to drug test you. Don't give me that garbage about personal rights, the government breaks all kinds of laws dealing with privacy and personal rights everyday. If you know up front that you're going to be drug tested in order to get your federal aide, it's not an invasion of privacy, it's a choice. Do you want the help or not?

I'm really interested, though.
