The US Government plans to register everyone with mental health problems. This is to stop people buying guns when ill. Isn't this a restriction on our human rights? Is the right to have a gun worth this restriction on our freedom? Will it lead to problems with people being stigmatised as dangerous? Surely it's not the illness that is the problem, as most people with illness don't cause trouble. Surely it's the easy access to weapons, especially heavy weapons that is the problem?

I am researching Malawi, which is located in South Africa. I am researching the African market to see if it would be profitable to export solar refrigeration units. The people of Malawi are poor and in dyer need of a place to store the food they need in order to survive. I need to address the following topics: Basic need potential, Import restrictions, Price controls, and government and public attitude toward buying American products. Another option is to export soil conditioners.

Republicans fight against anti-monopoly legislation. If corporations keep merging at the current rate, in about a century there will be only one big monopoly left in the whole country. So, the US will become like USSR, where there was only one monopoly - Gosplan. What can possibly stop the process of further monopolization of the US economy?

this is the 17th amendment, i need to know what it means in plain english:

The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures.

When vacancies happen in the representation of any State in the Senate, the executive authority of such State shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided, That the legislature of any State may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct.

This amendment shall not be so construed as to affect the election or term of any Senator chosen before it becomes valid as part of the Constitution.

If players are using illegal drugs such as steroids, why is it not up to the local sheriff’s office and the DA in that district to investigate, arrest and prosecute them? Doesn’t the nation have more pressing business to attend to than trying to micro-manage a private enterprise?

There have been lots of different Secretaries of State of the United States. This position, besides putting the person 4th in line to the presidency behind the vice-pres., speaker of the house, and president of the senate, can be very instrumental in the manner in which countries get along with the U.S. Recent Secretaries of State have included Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice, Margaret Albright, along with other famous ones such as Henry Kissinger, Dean Rusk, John Foster Dulles, etc. Who was the best, in your opinion, and why? Who was the worst?
