"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
-- Herman Goering (Nazi Reichsmarshall and Luftwaffe-Chief) at the Nuremberg trials.
Goering was one of the highest-ranking Nazis who survived to be captured and put on trial for war crimes in the city of Nuremberg by the Allies after the end of World War II. He was found guilty on charges of "war crimes," "crimes against peace," and "crimes against humanity" by the Nuremberg tribunal and sentenced to death by hanging.

CAN YOU RELATE THIS STATEMENT TO THIS ADMINISTRATION?

consider a tax system that only provided deductables to the poor , think about being able to fill out your taxes on a single postcard , ponder the thought of having to pay only ~10% of your income to the government , now consider how much good that saved income would do for the economy

But don't worry about lost government revenues, this system would boost national wealth by $5 trillion (according to Dale Jorgenson of Harvard) . Hate it when the wealthy can just hire a creative lawyer and skip out on their taxes? Consider this practice over with the incredible Flat Tax. .These are just a few of the advantages of a flat tax.

I advise you to read the complete premise before posting.

Both the Democrats and the Bush Adm. intend to maintain troops in Iraq indefinitely.. You don't gain title to your neighbors house just because you blew it up. We definitely broke Iraq, but that only gives us the burden of sin. It does not entitle us to the Country. We need to get out of Iraq now. This folly has already cost us 3300 American lives, $500 Billion in tax money, 30.000 thousand wounded and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Some Military people are saying we would have to stay there another 10 years... Your thoughts ??

Like, what are the chances of dying from passive smoking? of getting HIV? of dying in a terrorist attack? of dying in a car accident? etc. Is the money spent on combating these proportionate? Or do some issues get inflated by media hype, the popular imagination, and so on?

Bush's and Cheney's Swiss bank accounts must be bursting at the seams. Maybe when the money is traced Bush fans might begin to understand why we are in Iraq. What do you think?

Why is it everyone here realizes how crappy the world is, but does nothing to change it?!?!?

Why is it teachers teach kids they can't change the world until they're older when that's a lie?!?!?! They could change it now! And when they get older they won't either!

Why can't one person stand up and save the world?

Why can't I??!?!?!

Why can't you?!?!?!

The Tories...

"A party of great vested interests, banded together in a formidable confederation, corruption at home, aggression to cover it up abroad...sentiment by the bucketful, patriotism by the imperial pint, the open hand at the public exchequer, the open door at the public house, dear food for the millions, cheap labour for the millionaire."
