The Democrats of today are not the Democrats of the past...For example JFK. I am not a huge JFK fan but there is no comparison between someone like JFK and lets say ...Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid, or Hillary Clinton...Times have changed.

About a month ago I submitted a question
What do we call Oklahoma?
This was because they had passed an English Only Law
and the name of the State is a Choctaw Word, not english.
I awarded Best Answer to Mobilhoma.
Last night the Yahoo censors nailed me highlighting the word OKLAHOMA as a violation.
So watch out, and don't use the names of states

When the president clearly has lost the faith of the people (28%) and his mandate, but can continue to govern as he pleases uninterrupted isn't there something wrong?
I mean in the "old days" communication and polls etc. were practically non-existent. The people have a lot more up-to-date knowledge and input today. Shouldn't there be provision for the power of the self-governing people, made for these new circumstances?

Take for another example, (and there are many;) did the Founding Fathers ever imagine the kind of firepower that one person could carry in their two hands when they enacted the 2nd Amendment?
Do you think if they'd had a "time-lens" and could have seen today's almost daily shooting events that they would enact the 2nd Amendment now?

I see many such flaws in the Constitution, and the standard for change makes it nigh impossible in today's political atmosphere which makes it even further disabled..

It appears that President Bush has all the power and the elected Congress has none.

No matter which side you are on politically is this really the way its supposed to be?

I recall clearly the GOPs on these yahoo boards crowing the arrogant advice to the Democrats:
"why don't you try winning an election?"...
...well they did.

So what now?

I need to know of a current issue between Native Americans and the federal government. Identify the legislation that you think is linked to the issue, and explain why you think there is a connection.

how can we be a democracy when in two years we might be FORCED to be drafted to go to war with iran? how can we be a democracy when people in our capital have NO REPRESENTATION in our goverment. (in a true democracy people have representation in our government). we are a capitalist society not a democratic one. watch the youtube video
Surplus: Terrorized into Being Consumers - 1 of 7

The Republicans may or may not understand the gravity of what is happening as a result of Bush policy, but more importantly they do not care.

The fact that the Administration is in the process of attempting to morph every facet the United States government into a self-serving entity is of no consequence to them. Since they suffer no consequences and also read the kinds of unquestioning juvenile postings that are generated here, they are emboldened and must be saying to to themselves "We can get away with anything".

That's why the Bush administration values loyalty without question or conscience, over what is truly in the best interest of the American people.

That's why it is so easy for the Republican elite to sacrifice the children of the middle class in an ill-conceived war..it's not their little spoiled darlings.

John Dean has it right:

First they took us to war based on many lies, propaganda, and instilling fear of foreign attacks, so they could profit from the war. Then some others ended up in jail on bribery charges. Now old Wolf is facing corruption charges. Do they take the cover of religion to hide their sins? Then you have these hypocrite predator preachers who don't practice what they preach.
