BEEN THERE; DONE THAT!

As indicated in several of the responses from the question, many people do not know about the Fair Tax! This is the largest problem. People need to find out about the Fair Tax. Politicians are afraid to talk about it. They will lose the power and control they have over the People. Under the income tax code, they tell you how much tax you will pay. You determine the amount of federal tax you pay based on how you spend your money.

The second problem (once people are aware and agree with the Fair Tax) is how do we convince the Politicians to pass the Fair Tax and eliminate the IRS? There is an answer to this question. It is called "OPERATION; OFF THE FENCE"!

This program can be viewed at www.operationoffthefence.org.
It is a method whereby individuals contact their local Representative, Senator and the Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee on a weekly basis. The program also shows how to contact the local and state leaders to adopt a similar Fair Tax plan at the State and Local levels. Many states have a state income tax that will need to be changed when there is no longer a federal income tax return to be filed! It can extend to property taxes and eliminate both the property and income taxes at state and local levels.

I'm afraid that most people don't know what Fair Tax is Especially the YoYo second from top.

It is important because you still pay taxes, but government withholding is optional. Do you realize that out of the money YOU earn, the government almost always withholds more than what you really owe them, and they write you a check after you file your return for the amount that you over payed them like and everyone gets all excited because its like they are "giving you" money, when really, it was yours to begin with. Essentially, you are loaning the government money with absolutely no payment to you for the interest that you otherwise would have accrued had you been able to keep it.

Read up on it people!!!

Hell no I won't do this! If we don't pay our share of taxes there will be no government and this country will fall into shambles. Imagine a country full of George W. Bush's running everything...that's what it would go to. I am a very liberal minded Democrat and would never even consider something to these lines. The tax code just has to be adjusted so that those people in the higest percentage of income still pay their fair share of Federal taxes instead of getting out through all these loopholes. Tighten the tax laws is all we have to do.......This national retail sales tax would hurt those the most we are trying to help, the lowest 1/3 of income and those below the poverty line. It would make some meger neccesities out of reach for some. In addition it would bankrupt the US Government.

I'm 100% for the Fair Tax, but I dont think an online petition is going to change anything, and if you think writing to your senator or representative is going to change anything, youll forgive me when I tell you that youre living in shiny-candy-funland instead of reality.

Support Sen. Mike Gravel for President, hes the only candidate who supports the Fair Tax.

The Fairtax would be better than the current system. However, I would prefer that we just abolish the IRS and Federal Reserve and force the government to pay for itself using the federal lands, which are appraised at $67 trillion.

Dream on. It seems to me not be a good idea to publicly put the IRS on notice that you intend to evade paying income tax. Do you think that won't get you to the top of the audit list? Not too clever pal.
