Why is it that everybody out there is ready to say that a "recent study showed that..." but nobody ever gives any REAL references to what that study was and why it was conducted.

It's not that I don't believe in global warming, just that I'm sick and tired of hearing about how "researches proved," "recent studies have shown," and all this nonsense.

I'm a researcher myself and I can tell you for certain that I can prove just about I want to if I feel like it and even if I don't, the average person can't read a real technical paper or a professional journal article in the first place.
So can anybody out there give me a real publication (non an Al Gore movie, not an article in a newspaper, not something from an environmental group, definitely not a link to a website) that says something.

How would you make things better to live in the UK?
Everyone has a gripe about the way things are run, what would you do different?
I seriously think this country has gone downhill and I fear it will only get worse, what with the crime, immigrants and PC brigade.
Will you vote for labour in the next general election?
I know I definately won't:0(

I see new laws that are trying to control every aspect of our lives. Are we going to stand for this or are we gonna sit down and let this government become the Taliban. We complain about other countries and governments. But here in the US you can't even decorate your house or pimp your car without permision from the government. Try building a fence and you need pertmits. Try pimping your car and you'll get a ticket. Granted these are minor things. But this Patriot Act, and all these copyright laws and other BS comming out is ridiculous.

Most democrats esp those who are running for president, want a bigger government? Why do they complain that the republicans have given tax cuts for the rich, without defining what rich is? why do most want universal health care for everyone? I understand the need to take care of people, but isn't that what medicare and medicade for. Why punish people whose jobs offer haelthcare. I am a student of history and from everyyting I've read, the founding fathers wanted the citizens to be self reliant. I worked hard to get where I am today, and I do not need the government taking what I worked for and give to those who do not want to work for what they want, or need. People cannot say they do not have educational opprotunities, because thre are student loans, grants, and work programs that can help one to go to school if they wish. Do you hink the government, federal, state, and local should but out of ou ives?

I have noticed that the only time an England or British flag comes out it is normally to do with a sporting event! Even when I am abroad I notice that there are no Union Jacks flying outside our Embassies! What is up? Are we not proud of being British anymore?

In my viiew and option, I think it fear, reasonable and just, that the majrity rules.
The 2 partsystem is ok if it works at it's best.
I I ever is the President, I will see to that this politics works within all aspects of politics.
The sytem of chequeaa and balance i think coukld be working better.
for instance the electio of a president is to day just a mockery.
how is it the any peron, regardsless of his backround, even with a murdeous, corrupt and drunkiard background, can become a president.
i think a preisdent shoul have a sober backround and avocatio; for instance; A master atsea. That is becuse a master a t sea has avocationa background meaning that he knowd the whole working line from beeing a green horne to a full fledged captain goping out at sea.
i also think that a preident shoul have good leisure time activities:
Like
walking, health sports, playing an inreument, spend as much time as possible with his family and finally sleep a good eight hours every night.

Some people are of the belief that investigating agencies and police goes against law abiding citizens and play in the hands of mighty and richs. The police and investigating agencies are accused of adopting biased attitude and double standard while dealing with the complaints of the general public. Is it possible for the police and investigating agencies to go against the general wisdom of public and risk their legitimacy in the long run? Why does super cops and supreme investigators apears to be resembling to devil/demon brains when their subordinates turn oversmart while dealing with publik affairs?
