I keep getting his newsletters which are full of "congress doesn't listen to the people" kind of crap. I don't really agree with him all the time, and I was wondering if there was actually any truth to his statements that the people are being ignored, or if he is just babbling.

that this administration is considering what effect this will have on our current soldiers (men/women)? To allow our use of torture means that in the future, our own soldiers will be subject to these currently ILLEGAL practices, and we will have no recourse. Water torture will be allowed, death, death, will be allowed in certain circumstances, OUR soldiers can be wisked away to an unknown location and held WITHOUT CHARGES indefinitely. Without the aid of the Red Cross or any other int'l agency.

Pro or Con? Where do you stand?

this is from Yahoo news " Bush urged lawmakers to quickly approve legislation authorizing military tribunals and harsh interrogations of terror suspects in order to shield U.S. personnel from being prosecuted for war crimes under the Geneva Conventions, which set international standards for the treatment of prisoners of war. " BASICALLY he wants this passed quickly because as it states he's trying to protect the CIA personnel getting into trouble. as yahoo news states "prosecuted for war crimes". he's too busy protecting the guilty he isnt thinking about the innocent. he's got these terrorists imprisoned and can't seem to do any thing with them. do i want these terrorists free? NO but i certainly will not understand why this fool is want us to help legalize the cover up of the abuse going on with these terrorists. now he's fighting with the GOP !! lol they're actually against this! read this ! http://news.yahoo.com/fc/US/Bush_Administration. and anser me this can you believe this!?

The current salary for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $165,200 per year. However, in 1960 Congress was in session 350 days out of the year. This year, they are going for a new record, only 88 days in session, meaning they are spending 268 days in recess. This means they get paid almost $2,000 per day.

Personally I think they need to work more and get paid less, or at least stay the same amount and work a hell of a lot more than they do now. If nothing else, they need to give mandatory paid time off for the rest of us working stiffs.

Is anyone else pissed off about this, and why isn't anyone doing anything about it?

Should some sort of International Court be created that would have the authority within certain guidelines to have any leader of a country including ours appear before court?

The purpose would be to give somebody like Bush or Castro a reason to do the right thing instead of doing something just because they can get away with it. Kim Jong Il of north korea would be a good candidate for prosecution under this court..

Would it even be possible to create an unbiased court system like this that would have the power to actually bring in war criminals? I know we have nuremburg but slobodan milosevic was able to evade capture from them for many years.

I know this sounds like a crazy idea but I honestly think that if it were implemented 10 years ago then maybe 9/11 wouldn't have happened, north korea might not have their nukes, and bush wouldn't have sent us into iraq again searching for weapons of mass destruction that he knew were not there.

I am sorry if I appear thick, but I am very interested as to why everyone hates cuba,is it not time to try to get on with them now after all these years.
I know all about how Castro was,I have also noticed there have been some changes both by the Government and the people,so,shall we all try to make friends and work together.

Today I saw a G.W and Kerry on television and it looked like they were at a debate and when it was G.W.'s turn to speak he just sort of opened his mouth and said nothing for 30 secs. or more!
Was this a joke? or did he really just stand there and blink his little beady eyes with an open mouth, looking like he was thinking of what to say? Have you seen this? Was this recent?
