Contact the sender and ask for a copy of the sales reciept. From that you can determine if they were actually mailed and what class of mail they were sent.
Third class mail can end up in a bulk mail center hundred of miles from you. First class mail should be delivered within three days.
It doesn't hurt to call 1-800-ASKUSPS and start a consumer complaint

Good luck. I sent a package last year that didn't arrive after 3 weeks time when it was supposed to get there within 3 days. The day I filed a claim, a gentlemen called me and said he found the damaged package in a mall parking lot. Thanks to him I was unable to recover the package, but they are not very helpful at the post office. Long waits to leave messages on voice mails for nothing.

If they were sent First Class but not Registered, there is no way to track them.

It helps if you have a tracking number and then just access it on the net.

I think there's a form that you pay extra for that keeps track of your mail.
