If you answered yes, I'm laughing at you right now. There is no way... NO WAY either of them could carry the former Confederate states. The Mid-West contains liberals in the metro areas but bible thumpin conservative Republicans everywhere else.

when voting for presidents, does the popular vote even matter at all? the electoral college votes, and like the election of al gore vs. george w. bush, the popular vote was for gore and the the electoral collge voted for bush. bush won.
so, my question is: if you vote for president, does it even matter?
or is is just better to vote for local government? if you vote for mayors and such, they vote for senetors and governors, so you would want to start at the bottom with people who share your beiefs, right?

the democractic candidates take the gloves off in the 2008 elections. Republicans (with the media's duplicity) always get to come off like they are the tough ones. The arguments often make no sense - but they are tough. Then the democrats like Kerry (sigh) come off with a good argument but bring it like an intellectual wimp. Who wants to see a democratic woop a** candidate? Who do you think that person is? I think Obama, personally. What do you think?

They deserve to lose. I could be a Republican but all the ppl who were for aligning the party with religion to the detrament of small government and non-intervention policies have made the philosophy incongruent with the outcome. (Rove/Bush) So do you think the now 2 fractions of the Repubs (the religious v. the Goldwater conservatives) will lose because of this?

dosent that sound like another number they just picked out of the air, i feel its more like maybe 10 maybe 12 million with only about 2/3 coming from over the boarder and they other 1/3 staying when the visa's run out .

while enforcing the laws is the best way to solve the problem. wouldnt actually having a acurate disscustion be helpful also.

this is the largest militarized boarder with out a declaired war, and the boarder patrol is actually keeping more people in the country by stopping them from returning back to mexico during the off seasons, as they have done over the last century.

I BELIVE THAT THERE IS NOT ANY ABLE CANDIDATE WHO CANT LEAD THE AMERICA OR THE WORLD, I BELIVED THAT BUSH AND ALGORE WERE NOT REAL OR PERFECT PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE. THEY WERE LIKE A MAYOR LEVEL PERSONALITY. AFTER CLINTON THERE IS NOT ANY PERSONALITY WHO IS ABLE TO BE A PRESIDENT OF USA. SO I AM AFRAID THAT WHAT WILL BE THE FUTURE OF AMERICA AND THE WORLD?

Aren't these polls somewhat biased by the fact that most people don't want to answer questions over the phone? In this day of cell phones and caller ID, how can the pollsters be sure they are getting a representative sample of the voters and not being biased by the types of people who do want to talk to pollsters?

I wondered if it is poosible to pass a legislation bill that requires any candidates accepting funds from a source cannot have bills passed during their term that will benefit or help that donor profit?

In other words, all donors must be donating for the good of our nation and fellow man and cannot benefit by bills passed that promote their own wealth (such as pharmecultical companies donate money to a presidentail campaign and in the past were gurarenteed a very high profit on all AIDS drugs produced that will be paid through ADAP using federal tax money) or business men that do not own any land but can write grants for huge sums of money to not grow crops that could potentially drive down profits if over produced.
