All indications are that Ron Paul will not win the Republcian nomination. Seriously what makes you think he could win.

I have not seen a poll anywhere that has Ron Paul over 5%. You can tell me all you want that polls don't mean anything but you would be blind to the obvious. If Ron Paul had even a hint of hope of winning the republican nomination it would show somewhere.

Ron Paul's message does not resonate with the majority of his own party. He's not even a republican, Ron Paul's view points are that of a libertarian, he would be a libertarian if he thought that an (L) by his name gave him any shot of winning.

That being said George Stephanopoulos had a very valid question, What is a win for you? What is success for the Ron Paul campaign? Even if Ron Paul won the republican nomination he likely wouldn't win the presidency, furthermore if he hypothetically won the election there is no way Congress would approve or pass the majority of his initiatives. He would be a highly ineffective President.

Stephanopoulos has a great political mind and a magnificent understanding of Washington. I think he was dead on and I also would bet all the money I have that Ron Paul will not win the nomination. The odds are against his favor.

George S. only has one small vote.
Here is a link to slightly less than 100,000 voters who have actively reached an estimated 5 million or more voters, who in all probability will vote for RON PAUL in the primaries, across the country:

YES, George S. is guilty of rudeness in the extreme. How many small kids watching the program now think being RUDE to older people is acceptable in American society?

that was very early in the start of the campaign- about a week ago I saw him talking in a group about pauls fundraising you could tell he was very uncomfortable .lets hope he eats his words :)

p.s note to labkin here is a poll where Ron Paul has 11% of the vote from today in south carolina . It was from republicans likely to vote in the primaries (which is about half of rons support being all the newbies will vote this primary who arent counted )http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071214/ap_on_el_pr/poll2008_south_carolina;_ylt=AqYp4.rr1ISO1ewSMSDPbTFh24cA

every election cycle has someone like ron paul who strikes the fancy of many, even millions early in the campaign.

but every time, they run out of steam, because the rapid growth in interest, fundraising, participants in the campaign, whatever you measure by, is ultimately not sustainable, and does not translate into sufficient votes to get nominated or elected if independent.

that is simple history, well documented, and well known to stephanopoulis, having been a bill clinton campaign and administration insider.

there is value to having such people as paul in this campaign or any other, as they provide food for thought, but in the long run, the evidence is that they are not electable, and there is no reason to believe paul will be the exception.

He is a jerk because no one can predict the future absolutely. It's still very early on. He's showing his arrogance.
