After having had him as a governor, I don't have a clue. I guess the people who support him are those who like taxes being raised, those who want to reward illegals for their criminal act, religious bigots, those evangelicals who vote like their leaders tell them, people who want government telling kids they are overweight by their bmi (which is not an accurate way to measure if someone is overweight), people who like the idea of a governor destroying hard drives of 83 state computers so that information he doesn't want out can be safely hidden, people who like the idea of a governor (during his last few weeks in office) who uses all of the emergency funds on nonemergency projects so that the incoming governor has no emergency funds.

I do like the idea of the fair tax. But, I think that huckabee is just giving lip service to this idea because he thinks that he can get him a few votes. If he really liked the idea of no income tax, he would have done that in AR. He never did anything in that direction.

He is a good communicator. I have never seen anyone lie as sincerely as he does.

=Sigh=

No politician is without some mistake his/her aides made on his/her behalf (i.e., in this case, aides present a list of presumably vetted potential candidates). Granted, a captain is responsible for his ship and crew, but nobody is perfect.

This issue with the serial rapist is similar to that brought up against Dukakis' furlough program during his Presidential bid against Bush Sr. Given the results of the latter's ignominous administration, which should have been a portent of things to come (i.e., the nut didn't fall far from the tree), I wonder how many people would have voted the other way! (on the other hand, how foolish were the people that they voted for George the Younger, TWICE???)

So, regardless of your politics, stop picking on trivial issues, unless you think any candidate is capable of spreading AIDS throughout the world or will release every serial rapist on the planet.

(that's one rhetorical question down;
a gazillion to go before Nov 2008!)

An awful president.

What is more scary is that if he wins the nomination, the dems are going to have a party! They can easily portray him a a religious fanatic and win.

Because he supports the Fair Tax. The best way for us to clear up the Tax Code.

Also I'm sure that you never said or did anything in 1990 that could be used against you.

I'm sure I have, and apparently Mike Huckabee has as well.

I think the bottom line is that every Republican running is better than all of the Democrats running so whoever gets the nomination will get my support.

Within the GOP I would put Mike Huckabee at the top of my short list.

Many people get taken by issues unrelated to the presidents direct duties and therefore end up voting for someone who is constitutionally unable to directly do anything about gay marriage, abortion,...etc. Anyone attempting to make their vote count should educate themselves on the precise duties of the president and his plans as they relate to those duties. For the most part, that means decisions on national defense, foreign policy, and government spending.

He appeals to fundamentalists that do not care much about anything he has said or done, or his political positions, other than his continual talk about Jesus (his statements on aids they actually tend to agree with).

Hopefully Romney will rise up, or we will have to fall to the mercy of the Democratic nominee for four years. Pray it isn't Hillary for the good of America (if people think there is anger and hatred now wait till she is President).

He also wants to tell you that you can't use tobacco products because he does not approve of tobacco. That's a decision for a president to make??? Last I heard that was YOUR decision to make!
Don't worry tho, he'll make up for trampling on your rights by getting into your bedroom & telling you what & what not HE will allow you to do! Gotta play that God card ya know!
Join our Libertarian party & support representative Ron Paul to take back OUR country & YOUR personal freedoms from "THE" republOCRATIC politicians(magicians!).

Good question. Let me know when you find out. I still can figure it out either. He says he is against illegal immigration, but yet he want to support the illegal kids that are here BY giving theM intuition.
