Elections - August 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Elections

I find no small irony in the fact that the Republicans defend the people who corrupt our system of government like Ted Stevens and Tom DeLay 'til the end; But if you might be gay like Larry Craig, Mark Foley etc. they can't throw you overboard fast enough.

Don't get me wrong; I find the crimes of all those mentioned equally disgusting - But it makes it just a tad obvious that bribery, kickbacks, campaign finance abuse is just business as usual in the GOP; Just done a little too openly when you get caught. As opposed to any questions of sexual preference - Wouldn't want to offend our coalition of various hate groups thinly guised as 'moral activists'; Would we-?!

Should we be able to predict the results of the big election in 2008?

It seems the letters D and R have become the most convincing qualities of a candidate.

Let me start by saying; I am going to every website for all presidential hopefuls both reps and dems to research their plans. Obama seems to be making a whole lot of sense on issues facing America. So my question is what is the deal with Barack Obama? He seems to be more honest and intelligent than the others. It looks like he would benefit both parties and America. Is it just because he is black or was taught islam (when he was younger) people dislike him? Please only intelligent feedback.

I vote mostly Democrat but so far this congress has been lame they have not done anything. Didn’t they make a big fuss of getting serious legislation passed in the first 90 days they been passing themselves raises and giving them self’s vacations the first 90 days what a rip. The american people should pass a no confidence bill on congress.

According to the latest news headlines, Bush is about to request the congress to pay $50 billion more to run the iraq war. Do you think Congress should give him $50 billion blank check of taxpayer money? I think they will because Bush says we should never forget 9/11. What do you think?

Nobody said today's Republicans did not do similar things that the slave owners did hundreds of years ago.
Most jumped to the defense of the Republicans then and said great things about Abe Lincoln. On both counts they are right but I have been to Springfield, Illinois and there is a constant rumble in the ground as Abe turns over and over when he sees from above the slave like actions of the current Republican party. If Abe were here today, he would go back to the Whigs.
