I find no small irony in the fact that the Republicans defend the people who corrupt our system of government like Ted Stevens and Tom DeLay 'til the end; But if you might be gay like Larry Craig, Mark Foley etc. they can't throw you overboard fast enough.

Don't get me wrong; I find the crimes of all those mentioned equally disgusting - But it makes it just a tad obvious that bribery, kickbacks, campaign finance abuse is just business as usual in the GOP; Just done a little too openly when you get caught. As opposed to any questions of sexual preference - Wouldn't want to offend our coalition of various hate groups thinly guised as 'moral activists'; Would we-?!

I'm not sure why anyone would love it, although I just think it's hypocritical that Dems have the market cornered on this type of behavior so nobody even makes a fuss or pays attention to it as if it's business as usual, and when a Republican does it, it's major news.
As far as "throwing them overboard", the Republicans have always distanced themselves from less than desirables in their party while the Dems push to get theirs re-elected.

Sure, I appreciate the irony. But it's hard to be happy over yet more evidence of the corruption of our public officials. And as creepy as Craig seems to be, I can't help but feel for his wife and kids. Can you imagine facing the ladies at church or the kids at school after this? Let's not get carried away with our glee. I'm sure we haven't seen the last scandal involving a Democrat. Maybe it would be more productive to focus on higher standards for all of our elected officials.

There are corrupt politicians on both sides of the aisle. The biggest difference is the democrats rally around their guy/gal and make excuses for them. The republicans come out and condemn him/her for their actions. Which party is full of hypocrites?

It's all Clinton's fault. And Obamas. And Edwards'. And the Pope's.

I hear that Mark Russel may come out of retirement just for the neocons. Too much material to ignore.
