NO!!! When you vote, you are exercising a very powerful decision. If you are a moron, and don't know anything about the candidates and their position on various issues, you skew the will of the more intelligent voters.

As it stands there are people out there who can't tell you 2 amendments on the Bill of Rights, who can't tell you who the Vice President is, and who can't tell you any significant dates in our history. People like that should NOT be voting.

Dear idiots, on voting day please do us all a favor and stay at home.

No, voting should not be mandatory. Too many uninformed individuals show up to the polls as it is. Make it mandatory in such a "free thinking" society and we'll end up with the winner of American Idol being written in as the next President!

Voting can only be made mandatory if every race on the ballot has a "none of the above" option. You cannot (and should not) force someone to vote if the person does not believe there is a quality candidate to vote for.

I agree with the concept. But that would interfere with freedom. Good idea. We really should encourage voting. Here's a better idea (in my opinion) Tax breaks for voters. Those who participate in voting get a tax break. That would make it a positive thing.

Do not allow the media to select our next president.
Didn't we learn in 2000? Has the last eight years taught us nothing?
Gravel has spoken the truth, and because of that he is hated and has been denied his voice.
Don't let the media and elites get away with this gross act.

Wake up! Then VOTE for MIKE GRAVEL!

NO! I think it should be mandatory to have common sense and actually know what you're doing to get the privilege of voting.

Whoever makes it mandatory to vote needs shot in the head.

Mandatory? Are you crazy???? The current system weeds out the people who are too dumb, lazy, drunk, drug addled, off their meds, etc to get to the polls within a 12 hour window - and look at the quality of people who still manage to make it. No way I want to see it mandatory.
